Mike Leach

That time it was Apple Cup week and Petersen told the story about Leach showing up to the Pac 12 coach’s meeting a half hour late with in n out burger…

Leach responded “yeah. I was hungry.”

College football will be a lot less interesting with the passing of Coach Leach. It is a shame. Hopefully his family were all able to get there to say their goodbyes. RIP.

If that is true some of the schools that have won should voluntarily vacate the wins to push him in.

Making an exception would be the much better option.

Asking other schools to vacate years-old results just sends the wrong message imo.

That is weird, because there are 32 coaches in the HOF with > .600 records. Iowa's Hayden Fry is one of them.
  • A coach becomes eligible three full seasons after retirement or immediately following retirement provided he is at least 70 years of age. Active coaches become eligible at 75 years of age. He must have been a head football coach for a minimum of 10 years and coached at least 100 games with a .600 winning percentage.

Pretty sure they will embalm or cremate Mike so I don't see him becoming the grass that feeds the beast that feeds us.

Don’t think that happens when you burry people in caskets anyways, at least not for a while.

Cemeteries are kinda dated and need to be phased out IMO

Sink ‘em all into the swamp.

Given the admiration for him around the sport no one would have to ask. There would be a long line of schools offering up a game for the pirate.

I'd be pissed if UW didn't.

Here is an idea...if Miss St wins their bowl game (assuming they play) credit the win to the Pirate

Incredibly sad. Damn.

There‘s your answer. He did that. He absolutely coached 100 games with a winning percentage of 60%. He just also coached another 165 games with a winning percentage under 60%. You can’t penalize a guy for that.

im not sure if thats how that works.
i think the answer to how are others in under .600 is that the criteria has changed over time.
