That is two coaches in 24 hours the SEC West is on fire.

To be fair I didn't think Arnett was a good hire anyway but the dude lost his starting QB and is in his first year. Sam Pittman will be next and there will be 3 openings in the SEC.

The dude had a terrible contract they only have to pay 50% of the 9mm left on his contract so Mississippi State is on the hook for 4.5mm. I guess he bet on himself and 4.5mm isn't anything to sneer at but he needs to find a new agent.

Arnett won't be without a job for long.. he'll be coveted for a DC position

"...the progress and on-field results have not been of the standard required for Mississippi State to achieve the level of success we need and expect."

He went 4-6. Miss St. has averaged 6.2 loss per year over the last 20 years. The hell he didn't meet the Mississippi St. standard.

He is much better suited for a DC position. He struggled with balancing his bias for defense against what was best for the team and decided to get away from tempo and the air raid. Miss State needs a cutting-edge offense to score because you aren't going to run traditional offenses lined up against Alabama, LSU and Auburn and win with the recruits that Miss State can get.

He passed up several air raid disciples for the OC job because he wanted to stop putting pressure on his defense but that was the wrong move.

Interesting considering he was the coach of the best OOC win for the entire conference. Should have given him a raise tbh.

He lost that bet.

Man, I know a lot of teams and head coaches. Not all, but a lot. If someone would have asked me who the Mississippi State coach was, I would be totally blank on that one. Good for him. Getting his millions after being let go. Well, now, who is the new coach that rights the ship in Starkville?

I'd take a look at Kendal Briles. Arkansas went straight downhill without him as the OC and the offensive personnel hasn't changed that much.

Billy Napier not fired yet?

I don't think they are going to pull the trigger on him yet. They will make it where everyone will scared to take the job.

i'd be patient and see what happens with Aranda first
I actually think Arnett is better. He has done more with less than Aranda and that’s been proven.

Should have fired him the minute he said he was completely changing the offense.

Who else wanted him as HC when State hired him to begin with?

Answer: nobody, they should fire the AD for that stupid move as well.

Now, that said, Mullen, RichRod, Tom Herman, and possible Kevin Sumlin (depending on how many Leach players are left) should be called.
