MLB Is Stupid

There’s a lot of off days there, which is good in one sense but does it take away off days elsewhere in the schedule?

If the 25th is a night game in London assume 1 central over the 5 central. 8 hour flight back you get in around 3 AM or so...then you have to sleep the 26th and be ready to play the World Series losers the next day.

Has to.
Cards are playing 5 games in 4 days right now against the Cubs because of rain. I pulled up the Cards schedule Their last day off was Aug. 15.
Their next day off is Sept. 12

June 24-25 Cardinals vs. Cubs (in London)

2023 schedule

Big rivalry games. Let's move it to England!!
Why? Baseball is struggling enough as it is in the US. No one in Europe will give a shit. I could at least understand playing in Korea or Japan

To be fair, whoever goes over there will be playing like shit. They will be exhausted from the flight. Might as well send a game that would not get a lot of attention over here to not lose gate $$s
Fair point, but from a marketing standpoint it would still be much wiser to send over franchises that have some relevant intrigue.

Relating to the automotive industry... Hypothetically we promise a big race between Chevy and Dodge will occur in London. Everyone wants to see Corvette versus Viper, but there would still be some solid intrigue from Camaro versus Challenger. If we send over a Malibu and an Avenger, no one is going to give a fuck from the start. Yeah, maybe all three races turn out to be a lame no contest, but sending over intriguing products would be a lot more lucrative in the short term and long term.

Now you're just scaring the brits, so stop.

But do the Brit’s know the game enough to know the difference between a good game and a bad game? Between a cache team and a dud team?

Maybe send them the Pirates and Marlins. The Pirates have a nice history, but they are currently a dreg team. The Marlins have won 2 chips in the last 25 years or so, even though they have always been a dreg franchise. To an ignorant customer base, both those teams could be dolled up and sold as fluff.

It's pennant race time so instead of divisional rivals play each other, let's do iNtErLeAgUe instead!!! :yahoo:

But do the Brit’s know the game enough
I've asked about ten different Brits what they know about baseball.

They know nothing. They don't understand even the first thing about the game other than that Pujols and Molina 'roid and the Giants are one of the worst teams in the NL West this season.

So…

Basically…

People who know absolutely nothing about the game, agree with your takes.

That tracks…
