That Ohtani rule is complete BS. Why not make baseball like all the other sports and allow free substitutions throughout the game. Even if a player is taken out, he can come back in, no prob.

I am really starting to hate this game.

It's already the rule in college ball. I don't honestly have a problem with it. Pitcher and DH are two different positions in the same lineup spot, bringing in a new pitcher doesn't require you to change the DH.

From just a technical standpoint of what’s explained here they had two names in those years….and Phillies were still one of them.

Based on that the “longest single team name” holds logic.

The tweet doesn't say that though, it says "continuous, one-name, one-city". It's not saying that Phillies was still used throughout those years as one of two, it's saying that Phillies has always been the only one.

A much more understandable gripe if coming from an official team or league Twitter account. As such….it’s just someone’s tweet.

Let’s not miss on its purpose….the fevered nightmare picture of such mascots….lol
 
my problem with the Ohtani rule is that the Angels are the only team that would really benefit from it.
