If he can't hit against the shift and is so easily thrown off, he shouldn't be in the majors.

He's going to DH platoon with Vogelbach, from what WFAN is saying.

Encouragingly, the team has started to hit again lately. Buuuuuuut...it's been against teams like the Marlins and Nationals.

For the Mets, a lot hinges on how effective deGrom can be down the stretch. Jake, Sherzer, Walker, Carrasco is a pretty good playoff rotation but you still gotta score runs.

Yet another trade deadline will come and go with the Giants doing nothing of substance. As good as they looked last season, they look utterly lost this one. They should be selling because they can’t hang with the Madres or the Neck Tattoos at all.

Yes, I wanted him because I thought we could get him for a bag of used baseballs. Yankees likely wanted one of their prospects back from us. Hoping we can sign him next season on a 1 or 2 year deal. Something like a one year make-good year with massive, but still well under market, club option the second year. Something like a 1/$10M and club option at $15M. Then if he does well without the shift we can keep him for a decent number. But he still makes a lot of money next year.

If The Braves were in the Giants position, I’d either want to buy or sell, either go for it or try to retool for next season. Last year kinda came out of nowhere, and it was reasonable to expect some regression for the Giants this season, but they should be better than they are at the same time

He's not alone in being robbed by the shift. He's a pure power, pull hitter. That's what the shift eats alive. By banning it he is going to be a much better player next year.

Exactly. Do something. Either buy or sell. I don’t care which. Standing pat with this team shouldn’t be an option on the table.
