You have to have something to dance to other than maybe fucking line dancing the whole time. That isn't my cup of tea.

She really made it a miserable day outside of the no drinking or basically any dancing at the reception. My wife's cousin was the dj and he couldn't even play what I considered "safe songs" (YMCA and that type). It had to be old country. No one danced other than an occasional kid who got bored.

nothing wrong with a little cha cha slide. me personally, i dance to the beat of a different drummer, so what's playing will not match my groove anyhow, so it's all good.

Not necessarily my town. It's my in-laws and those they bring in. The towns I'm associated with our the "heathens" in my location. My in-laws do not like to visit because of it and I like that. Now my cousin's wedding in a couple of years, it will be the exact opposite. My aunt is already trying to figure out limo service and hotels so everyone can get trashed.

They're odd. I went to school with some Apostolic kids and they didn't seem that bad. They were different, but they were more tolerable to things. I know a family that went from Amish to Mennonite because of their business getting so big. They seemed less conservative as well. The grooms family still send their kids to the Catholic school, but do not go to the church. Guessing too much drinking for their taste.

There are some Mennonite and Apostolic communities around my area. Some of the more conservative groups don't allow TV's in their house and members of the church are expected to use other members' business services. The women once they join the church are supposed to wear their hair up and dress very conservatively

The bolded is how the Apostolic & Mennonite around here are as well. I doubt their are any super conservative though on the TV & electronics. Hell the Amish tend to have those things and try and hide them. The Amish around here are much more conservative than those in the Goshen and Leo/Woodburn areas (Harlan & Grabill). We call ours the hillbilly Amish compared to them.

Amish around here too. Some have cellphones, computers, even cars. I asked an Amish guy one time how they could do that and he said as long as it was "for the business" it was permitted.

Yep, very few around here take advantage of that, but like I said the Goshen/Nappanee & Grabill/Harlan have no issues with all those devices for their "business".
 
Good morning folks. Weekend was good up until yesterday. Found out our daycare lady was exposed to Covid last week (her grandson tested positive). So now daycare is closed and Deuce can’t go to school while we wait for her results. If her test comes back positive we’ll all be here for the next 2 weeks. If it’s negative, daycare can reopen with her husband handling the kids and her quarantined in another part of the house.

I thought Deuce was going to murder me when I told him he couldn’t go to hockey yesterday.
