Monday and the NFL wins the weekend

morning all

busy weekend. Mom was in town to visit us in Austin. Saturday we went to Waco to see the Magnolia and chip and joanna stuff. Not my cup of tea, but wife really wanted to go and her mom was supposed to come out and go with her, but she flaked out, so I picked up the slack. It was either groups of women or women with their husbands in tow like me

Sunday went to farmers market, had some seafood. I watned to go to a different seafood place, but it was opposite direction of farmers market and after Saturday, I wasn't in the mood to drive around extra, although in hindsight would've only been extra ~15 minutes of driving so probably should've. With that said, I had some really good fried catfish
I got lucky with that. Last time we were in Waco was on a Sunday and all of that shit was closed.

strokes and new babies damn sounds like a gauntlet, one might forgive you for slacking with such things to contend with.
Yeah, odds are something like 3 in 10,000 pregnancies have a stroke.

We're fortunate that the major lasting impact seems to be related to speech and not any major physical impacts, but that first 36 hours in the hospital was one of the scariest things I've been through. Wifey is a lot tougher than she gives herself credit for being.

i can only imagine. Good to hear she's on the mend tho

Wife's going to lose her mind. Buck & Bossy can't go to school until Wednesday. Neither had Covid and it's been like 2 weeks since Buck had influenza A. Bossy just got over influenza A. Meanwhile asymptomatic Dodger with Covid last week was able to go to school today. She has to wear a mask for 5 more days and the other 2 do not once they go back. Who is making these rules?
Whole groups who have lost utter ability to explain logical best approaches to take.

It’s been like that here too. One of the kids got quarantined at the start of the year….for two days. This was when the rule was two weeks. Turns out the parents of the infected didn’t let the school know for over a week.

Kind of a pointless two days, especially for a special needs kid whom a four day weekend takes weeks to recover from and get back to routine.

Yes indeed. I told the wife to keep Grand home bc of his cough. He is just going to 3s Preschool over there with his siblings for this year. Buck is going to struggle even more.
I can't imagine having to get a special needs student back into a routine. The at risk are the most affected yet least protected it seems.

Especially in this states education system. Even the thanksgiving of Christmas breaks take weeks to get them back into routine from.

And no option for year round school like many other states do.

I'm curious as to how my alma mater has changed when Grand goes for regular preschool there next year. The stepkids' school is not impressive. The twins had essays to write and had to use one paragraph from their teacher in each. It was an environmental & political diarrhea that didn't mesh with the rest of the topic. It makes me wonder if any education in public/private/parochial/charter is worth it anymore. Our kids are not learning life skills anymore.

I never even mentioned Green Bay because they always get eliminated in the playoffs.
Aaron Rodgers is the 49ers bitch.

- Playoff call for Mr Rodgers
- “Who is it?”
- Owen
- “Owen who”
- Oh and four against the Niners in the playoffs

Yeah, they were so scared to lose it on a bomb in regulation that they lost sight of preventing them from getting into FG range.

Also, who had Andy Reid having timeouts to burn in that situation?

I think they forgot that KC had timeouts with how wide open they were leaving the middle of the field. Hey dum dum, sidelines only matter when the team can't call time out

so on Friday I went and got drinks with a girl I have been friends with for a few years now. Had a little fling with her back then but it didn't go anywhere and now just friends.

well anyways, I guess there was someone at the bar that saw me and reported to another friend that I was at the bar with this girl...and it eventually got back to the NYC/golf girl...and now she is mad because she thinks I have been seeing this other girl for a while or she thinks I ended things with her a few weeks ago so I could date this other girl.

why are girls so dramatic? Why can't I just go get a couple beers with a friend who happens to be an attractive lady?

you're not with her anymore, who gives a fuck what she thinks?

Not only that (the two oldest- 19 and 21- have had to learn most life lessons since graduation from us) but all the things in math and English we were taught (and work fine) have been replaced with techniques that make no fucking sense.

And I don’t mean “…in my day….” Boomer shit. We know many teachers who all lament the way they have to teach it.
