Monday, brought to you by Amazon Prime

Pops is in getting a knee replacement surgery. Not off to a good start, as apparently the techs did a CT scan on the wrong knee. He was supposed to be the first patient of the day, now he's waiting for an OR.
My dad had his knee replaced a few weeks ago. It's a rough recovery. My mom had her hip done a few years ago, and this seems to be much worse.

had a busy birthday weekend. Thanks everyone for coming out and celebrating with me on Friday night.

golfed, picked crabs, won a tennis match, went to a pool party, went to a pig roast, had brunch in Annapolis, went on a date at a winery.

mowed the lawn somewhere in there too.
Happy belated birthday, dog.

Probs shouldn't have waited 3 days before their wedding to get them a gift. Do I get them a fucking $150 towel warmer (the only thing left on their registry), or an amazon gift card. Well, I guess they made that an easy choice.

called my mom last night to check in, see if my step brother did anything for his dad.

Turns out my step dad has been in hospital since either Friday or Saturday, my mom's story wasn't clear and she bounced around. Long story short

His hand started swelling up last week and he wouldn't go to doctor early on. It got too point his wedding ring was causing pain from swelling and he couldn't get it off and he finally went in (he wanted to wait longer) and they had to cut off his ring to relieve pressure. His hand is infected, but they're not sure how it happened. Had he waited another day the swelling would've been so bad they probably would've needed to amputate the finger, had he gone earlier they couldn't probably got it off easier w/o cutting ring off or at very least, cut ring off easier with much less discomfort/pain during procedure.

He'll be there a few more days, he's on antibiotic drip, if that doesn't work, they'll need to lance his hand and drain whatever and they'd probably have him stay in hospital 24-48 hours after that after with antibiotic drip

He's overall "fine" and while it's a bit unknown they don't really anticipate any major issues.

I was like while you don't need to rush to tell me every ailment, heads up he was in hospital would've been nice
This post compelled me to take off my ring.

It wasn't easy.

she brought her kid to stay with her father for the summer, so she was in FL all weekend
I don't get that kind of stuff. Or folks who send their kids away to camp for months in the summer.

I can't imagine sending my kids away for that long.

So no kid this summer, eh?
no kid for summer

My wife is an ortho RN and she would confirm that a knee replacement is more painful and has a longer rehab time than a hip. That is why I'm going to have lubricating shots fired into my knee until I absolutely can't deal with it any more.

Oh yeah, I hope your father's day was good too

Kinda crabs?

I learned last night blue crabs are a lot of work to eat, dungenous crabs are better for the amount of time it takes to shuck them?

Towel warmers? Dafuq... This isn't Europe

It was great, thanks. Hope you have a great one as well.
Thanks, Burgers and some U.S. Open golf with two of my kids and their loves along with soon to be 92 years old Pops Racer. And for a bonus my boy John Rahm got the win.
