It'd be a fast turnaround for you and me. NFL players get express-lane access to the best rehab equipment, drugs and personal care in existence. "Fast healing" happens on the regular with NFL players these days.

had a nice long weekend. 75th celebration for my dad. brother and his wife came in from OCONUS. caught up with my best friend from back home. checked my work email today and no fires to put out when I go back in tomorrow, I'll take it.

He's actually pretty good at it. It's obviously still very early, but he looks to be faster than I was, and he's bigger than most of the kids his age, so the kids he can't run past he just kinda runs through.

He's apparently super competitive and gets mad whenever the play ends without him scoring a goal. So like if he dribbled out of bounds, he'd go sit behind the goal. During tee ball this spring, he'd run off the field crying if the ball wasn't hit to him. He seems to be mellowing out a little bit the more he plays.

the game is doing what you can with what's given to you. Doesn't mean you won't mess up when the time to shine happens, but as long as you put your best foot forward, no reason to shed tears over it.

Exact conversion I had with a 6 year old kid at flag this weekend.

Me: “You’re the safety, so you have to watch the sideline and cut the kid off if he tries running around the corner.

Him: “My dog likes red bones.”
