Sorry for yourn loss, @SlinkyRedfoot and @PeoplesChicken.

Worst possible series IMO. Either the Dodgers win a real World Series for the first time in 30 years or the Yankees win another. Was rooting hard for Cleveland.

House next door had some big changes over the weekend. My neighbors have been great. It's an old couple who have lived together for a long time, plus the woman's sister and her two kids. Old dude had a stroke well before we moved in, and had been living with the aftereffects rather well for a long time. Unfortunately, Father Time caught up to him this summer. He's been in and out of the hospital and long term care for months, and it's been a challenge for the people who are home to assist him. He moved back to Mississippi to be with his larger family (aside from the people in the house, his only family up here is a sister of his who's like 80 and her niece). Sad to see him go. Didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

could always visit him in Mississippi

or send him something to let him know how nice it has been living next to him.

I'd do the latter...because fuck Mississippi
 
Let's be honest the only team that could possibly beat the Yankees right now would be the Dodgers. I was rooting for the Mets but I think the Yanks would crush them so this is the best possible outcome once the Yanks made it in

Saturday and Sunday spent all day and night at the softball fields watching my nieces softball tournament and it was awesome! Weather was spectacular! Her team won it as well so that's even better!

Incorrect, best possible outcome once the Guardians lost was Giant Meteor. That is still on the table.

It sucks, but if you'd have told me last offseason that they'd make the ALCS, I wouldn't have believed you. Hopefully they can build on this season moving forward.

The Yankees are a better team. The Indians could have beaten them, but they needed to bring their A game, which they did not. Too many errors, etc.

i remember why i never bought airpods before. within 2 weeks of getting them, i already lost 1 of the 2. granted, i lost my phone for a bit before i called it on my work phone and walked around my house. think there was a location feature, but fuck that, probably have to open an app on my phone. should probably shower and go suit shopping (not for a court date)

i kept debating which would be more annoying another subway series or NY vs. LA. Meh, all I know is I'm not watching.

I kinda want to believe this is true. He was a notorious womanizer and was not even shy about it. I read a book by Jane Leavy on Mantle and he even tried to make a move on her while writing the book.
 
Back the ALCS. I agree with Slink, that had someone told me they would get to the ALCS this year I would not have believed that. They are still one of the youngest rosters in baseball, were without two of their best starters, and that anemic offense really revealed itself. But it was an exciting series nonetheless. I say this every year, but I really hope they add some bats.
 
well, I guess I'm pulling for the Doggers in the WS. Gag.

Not watching the World Series. Didn't really watch the playoffs. I have a hard time watching MLB anymore. I can watch college baseball all day, but any other baseball I lose interest it seems.

I had posted this before that for some reason or whatever I just wasn't into baseball this year. Which is unusual for me because I love baseball. I didn't even attend a Guardians game this year. The last time I never went to a game was probably the late 90s
