Both teams score on early drives. Then both D's held on 2nd drive I think. Didn't see start of game so not certain which drives.

I'm not sure he even earned two full games in the books that year...hurt before halftime of the BYU game, came back for the Baylor game and played less than half of the RRSO IIRC.

You're very on point. Sam was a great OU QB and a great CFB QB. No NC rings but sick stats though.

Texas wins 17-13.

In the 4th quarter West Virginia scored to tie it but the refs said the receiver bobbled the ball so they settled for a fg. Then Texas had a backwards pass WVU recovered. Overturned.

Late in the 4th WVU had a 4th and goal. Received got mugged on the pass attempt. Refs ate their whistles.
 
Dumb coaching by WV. All they had to do was kick field goals on the those 2 late 4th and ones and they win the game.

Yep. I don't understand why they didn't the first time. This could have been a multi score win for West Virginia.
