Muschamp fired (South Carolina Gamecocks head coach search)

I don't know they landed Lou Holts, Steve Spurrier and then Muschamp who was a hot name at the time.

SC does a good job of hiring coaches and most of the time they retire.
Muschamp was not much of a hot name at the time. It’s mostly thought he was about their 4th/5th choice. And saying they hire good coaches ignores the majority of their history.

Kansas State has hired some really great coaches regardless of history. I stand by the statement.

I would say Holtz Spurrier and Morrison were good coaches. Outside of that not much. Caslen ended up being solid. But for each of those guys there’s a lot more Brad Scott’s and Sparky Woods.

I do think they could really benefit this year tho because I doubt many schools will be looking for new coaches. Which leaves them with a better opportunity to land a Freeze or Napier.

I'm shocked anyone got fired in this climate, but my guess would be they're going after Freeze or maybe even Sark. Hopefully Freeze.

Muschamp may end up at Bama as an analyst

freeze would take michigan over usc......in fact anyone would avoid columbia if they have choices

Offense is the name of the game these days, even Saban has come around.
Now, you need offense, ya boy got offense, Go get him Gamecocks

Mushchamp was a horrible hire , the guy is/was a DC and a good one but never a HC. Too many coordinators in HC positions these days. South Carolina made solid hires with old guys in Holtz and OBC but Boom was a freggin headscratcher. Gotta question the leadership on that one, this hire gonna be interesting.

I think he was fired as much for going ballistic like a mad man at the end of the first half at the refs for making the right call of adding one second to the clock. That kind of anger is not healthy, even for a football coach. Just not a good look. Of course, the losses didn't help either.

they should go with the polar opposite for their next coach. I hear that always works.

Wonder if Michigan and Tennessee are paying any attention to this.... lets see who they can get in the covid era

:briles: probably would do anything to get out texas high school football......

Is this guy still getting paid by 2 or 3 different schools? If not, he might be available.
