Where did you want to be?Just imagine if we’d have wanted to be there
Home?Where did you want to be?
The Refs and the poor play calling had no part in Tennessee forgetting how to tackle or push the TE out of bounds. And not just that OT play. 6 DPI’s, while a blind eye was turned to the Purdue DPI just before the end of regulation.
Probably the same reason he threw 2 deep balls on 2nd and 3rd down on Purdue 40 with 1 minute left to set up a failed 57 yard FG. Just plain dumb, IMO.Why the hell did Heupel go for it on 4th down TWICE in OT instead of taking the FG?
At least force Purdue to get a TD to win.
This makes senseFor those of you whining about the call: The offensive lineman was clearly grasping and pulling the running back into the end zone, which is a 5 yard penalty so it should never have been called a TD. They should have assessed the 5 yard penalty, giving TN the chance to kick the FG.
Interfering for or Helping the Ball Carrier or Passer
ARTICLE 2. a. The ball carrier or passer may use their hand or arm to ward off or push opponents.
b. The ball carrier shall not grasp a teammate; and no other teammate shall grasp, pull, or lift the ball carrier to assist in forward progress. (A.R. 9-3-2-I)
c. Teammates of the ball carrier or passer may interfere with opponents by blocking but shall not use interlocked interference by grasping or encircling one another in any manner while contacting an opponent.
PENALTY—Five yards [S44].
Everybody is without a bunch of everybody. These games are crap shoots. Was Tennessee without a bunch of DBs?
Kind of surprised Purdue threw for as many yards considering they didnt have their top WRs and their "top" guy out there was a dude with 2 bad knees
