First TD of the game - JJ Smith pass from Will Howard.
You may have noticed the defensive back jumping up and down and pointing at Smith.
Smith always lines up with his foot closest to the QB forward (since he was to the right of the line, it would normally be the left foot). On this play, he did opposite (In this case, right foot forward instead of left). Kudos to ND for being so well coached that the DB recognized it.
However, the DB "took the cheese" so to speak, thinking Smith was going to orbit motion around the line. When Smith planted (about the time he reached the right tackle) and went back right, the DB was running full speed the wrong way with no chance to get back to Smith.
It was one of those "Could he be any more wide open?" moments and an easy touchdown as a result.
