ABCA annual convention was today. The outcome around the new limits on college baseball rosters that start fall of 2025 (hard cap of 34) is the proposal that college baseball rosters will be capped at 38 for fall ball and then has to be down to 34 by 12/1/25. There was no proposal to allow an immediate transfer for those 4 kids cut to immediately play at a new school.
Of course that means that there will be a lawsuit when one of these kids is cut and blocked from playing spring ball. Now the proposal goes to the P4's for ratification. Sounds like the reason for the extra 4 kids that will get cut is for workload and injury control.
The other measure to come out today is a rule to make the first day spring practices can happen at 35 days prior to opening day
