NCAA Rumored To Be Coming Out With New NIL Guidelines- People Aren't Happy

There ain’t nothing legit about that when the deal is in place before anyone hits campus. That will be one of the first things targeted.
LOL it's a position.. POSITION group deal to use that POSITION GROUPS individual players NIL for charity and events

did not know that the DL had the same deal as the OL

BTW it's a legit deal.. one that wouldn't catch the eye of the NCAA
legit or not, if the rules come down you can't promise anything until they sign then that falls in that gray area I was talking about.

Or it just becomes how NIL is done. "Hey 5 star HS kids, this group of companies will pay $10m to the QB for the Aggies" is the same as "Hey specific 5 star kid, this group of companies will pay you $10m to sign here".

yeah i get it.. BTW has any of the players y'all have announced anything big? Is it still pretty much just merchandise things? I was wondering because outside of Bijan's deals with DAZN, Candy, and Lamborghini ... only other players I have seen announce things were merchandise or restaurant related.

Let these kids get all they want. Let the fools pay 'em as much of their money as they are willing to part with.

no no no no.. i rather see that money go to the head coaches, coordinators and position coaches.. they make the players, not the other way around

I'm not really sure, NIL is still so wheels off and "rumors" so numerous I stopped even trying to listen to what might be going on.

My favorite team could probably be OK in a system like that but why don't we just let the richest schools have 12 men on the field too while we're at it? Don't you realize how letting money become THE biggest factor in college football would ruin the sport? Nobody's knocking NIL but unrestricted free agency and no salary cap are a recipe for disaster.

2-star guys don't win championships.
UGA had two former walk ons playing significant time in the NCG, one was the QB, the other was that white safety that got blown up on the game sealing pick 6

As a free market kind of guy, I can agree with this. I can walk away from it with a clear conscience

I propose that players wear their NIL income on their jerseys instead of numbers.

This seems a bit like trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

It also makes me wonder about legit, 3rd party deals. From what I have found, Caleb Williams has a legit 3rd party deal with Beats headphones. But, he has used it to gift headphones to his teammates and the Men's and Women's basketball teams.

I wonder if that would be considered a violation?

You really don't understand how this is supposed to work. That setup is pretty much enticement by definition and play for pay. There is no legit argument for defending it.

I don't think so because it's no different than giving away products to influencers in order to drive sales. Beats is wanting everyone to see USC athletes walking around with their product on so it becomes the thing to do.

That's a legit strategy and not a bad one.

If they gave Caleb a crate of headphones and told him to do with them whatever he wanted then it's not fair to say he can't give them to teammates, needy orphans or some charity. I'd draw the line at him selling them.
