March Madnes NCAA Tournament: First Round

Have Indiana, Purdue and Michigan State tomorrow to salvage some pride

Not saying they did bad, it's just weird to think in terms of it being that group of teams, considering everything.

Imagine telling my college aged self that fucking Penn State, NW and Maryland would be saving the B1G's ass this tournament.

And they have UCLA, Texas, and Alabama.

Penn State wins it all.

Yeah. I don't get some of these power 5 schools and their thinking "Well our conference is tough enough so we don't need to schedule a difficult non conference". Opposite of Gonzaga. They think they have to schedule a difficult non conference because their conference isn't good enough. Go play a damn difficult non conference to get you ready for conferences and post season play. If you can't handle a difficult non conference schedule, you don't belong in the tourney. JMO.

100%

And its not even that you have to schedule Kansas or Duke every year. Just schedule SOMETHING.

Thats all the committee cares about. If a team schedules to play LSU and they happen to suck ass the year the game happens that isnt held against them. Buzz literally doesnt even try. Look at their non con this year, its actuallly funny.

I really want Wake to start scheduling both Richmond schools (UR and VCU) because they typically have solid squads and would be willing to come to Winston and host Wake in alternating years. In today's game, there is zero excuse for having a bad OOC. Teams are no longer being punished for having 14 or 15 losses. It's all about maximizing Q1/Q2 wins and minimizing Q3/Q4 losses.

Somehow Im still in the 72% percentile after missing 5 games yesterday.

Games like UR and VCU are also sneaky good scheduling.

And you are right the amount of games you lose literally does not matter if you play good teams.

Baylor lost like 5 times from the february committee sneak peak. They dropped 1 spot on the s curve and that was literally because we won out and won the BE tourney.

The B12 had zero games that could hurt them. And all their teams played good non cons. Its a pretty simple concept. Dont schedule grambling state.

someone check on @fordman84
Eh, I'm ok with it. I knew we didn't have the offense to hang around long this year. It's baseball season anyways so not much need for roundball.

also, happy to see the selection committee dream of a A&M vs Jexas matchup blow up in their fucking faces. :suds:

On my ESPN Bracket, I had Arizona winning it all

I actually busted out laughing after it happened because I didn't feel confident about anyone winning it all. The teams have been so inconsistent this year.

I took a wild swing and have Marquette winning it all. :noidea:
