I thought the whole idea was that you played so long as one position group isn't wiped out.

They each have a bye the next week, so they could just potentially delay it a week. Continue testing through the weekend and see what the results are. Seems reasonable that if no one else tests positive from here on out, the game should be good to go. That was the whole point of scheduling teams with the same bye weeks.Did the ACC release guidelines for when they'd postpone?

True. But we do have new testing out there that now tests for low viral loads that were previously undetectable when that rule was announced. But I do agree with you. They'll probably just push it back to Dec.I'm a little hesitant of that happening because of the 14 day isolation rule. I'm going to guess this gets pushed to December 12th. Maybe UNC and Wake can play this week, which would open up Nov 14th for UNC and Wake and it would allow UNC to schedule BYU/Umass as their OOC game.

Agree with part of that. But is the ACC testing every day?The B1G is really screwed in this situation:
- They can't return to play for 21 days after a positive - that's 11 more days than the CDC recommends.
- They have no bye weeks in their schedule.
- One or two teams has about 10 people positive, they will end up cancelling 3 games.
3 times a week, I believe is the last I saw. Some schools are doing more than that.Agree with part of that. But is the ACC testing every day?
I wonder if anyone from USF now comes down with COVID since they played at Notre Dame last Saturday.
That's where our testing SHOULD be a big benefit. Unless a bunch of players went out and partied, and got it, it shouldn't spread within the team. You'll know if you have it 15 minutes after you walk in door each morning3 times a week, I believe is the last I saw. Some schools are doing more than that.

I would love to see the bills racked up from all this testing. Having to test 100+ players and staff every day. When I had a rapid test done, it was $150. I'm sure they aren't paying $150 a test, but the bill has to be enormous. That's where our testing SHOULD be a big benefit. So, let's assume 200 tests a day...$18,000 a week
No one can argue daily testing is better than no testing, or 3 times per week. But having started too late, they have zero room for error, and they are being too strict with their 21 day requirement. Let's say tOSU gets 10-15 players test positive once the games start. They will only be able to play 5 games. That would preclude them from the CFP.I think the B1G is doing it the right way. It should be alot like the NFL testing outcomes. Nfl has had huge success. Also who knows what else will be discovered in another month since the B1G starts up.
