I thought the whole idea was that you played so long as one position group isn't wiped out.

Did the ACC release guidelines for when they'd postpone?

They haven't released names, but I'm going to guess a positional group did get wiped out. They were already down 3 LB's for USF. More positives from testing yesterday, it's bound to be more LB's.

They each have a bye the next week, so they could just potentially delay it a week. Continue testing through the weekend and see what the results are. Seems reasonable that if no one else tests positive from here on out, the game should be good to go. That was the whole point of scheduling teams with the same bye weeks.

I'm a little hesitant of that happening because of the 14 day isolation rule. I'm going to guess this gets pushed to December 12th. Maybe UNC and Wake can play this week, which would open up Nov 14th for UNC and Wake and it would allow UNC to schedule BYU/Umass as their OOC game.

The B1G is really screwed in this situation:
- They can't return to play for 21 days after a positive - that's 11 more days than the CDC recommends.
- They have no bye weeks in their schedule.
- One or two teams has about 10 people positive, they will end up cancelling 3 games.

True. But we do have new testing out there that now tests for low viral loads that were previously undetectable when that rule was announced. But I do agree with you. They'll probably just push it back to Dec.

I agree with you about that. I'm not sure if that will matter though. I wish it would.

I wonder if anyone from USF now comes down with COVID since they played at Notre Dame last Saturday.

Agree with part of that. But is the ACC testing every day?

3 times a week, I believe is the last I saw. Some schools are doing more than that.

They got tested on Monday, and all came back negative. They will be testing again tomorrow. All Friday tests came back negative as well. This is all on ND on this one. Which is strange because ND had been really good with it until last Friday.

That's where our testing SHOULD be a big benefit. Unless a bunch of players went out and partied, and got it, it shouldn't spread within the team. You'll know if you have it 15 minutes after you walk in door each morning

I think the B1G is doing it the right way. It should be alot like the NFL testing outcomes. Nfl has had huge success. Also who knows what else will be discovered in another month since the B1G starts up.

I would love to see the bills racked up from all this testing. Having to test 100+ players and staff every day. When I had a rapid test done, it was $150. I'm sure they aren't paying $150 a test, but the bill has to be enormous.

I thought I heard they were $15/each.

So, let's assume 200 tests a day...$18,000 a week

No one can argue daily testing is better than no testing, or 3 times per week. But having started too late, they have zero room for error, and they are being too strict with their 21 day requirement. Let's say tOSU gets 10-15 players test positive once the games start. They will only be able to play 5 games. That would preclude them from the CFP.

well

at least we won't have to watch the catholics assault the baptists

I think the likely hood of having them above the 5% threshold is probably at about 5% IMO. They are going to start testing daily 21 days out. So if there is a positive all those players, while they can't practice, will be able to play. The nfl has had huge successes with this.
