GAME Nebraska @ #3 Oklahoma | 11:00am | FOX

Nebraska's edge for years was being able (and willing) to develop linemen for at least two years in their unmatched weight room before those guys ever got to start. By the time they got on the field their linemen were built like concrete trucks. Sprinkle in some skill position players without any concerns about complying with the partial qualifier BS and presto! They were great teams. Of course having coaches like Bob Devaney and Tom Osborne helped too.

Now they face:
1. Players in today's game who get their panties in a knot if they aren't playing a lot as freshmen and sophomores.
2. Pesky academic requirements that weed out the total morons who are only good at sports.
3. Crappy coaching
4. No recent record of success to make kids want to play in Lincoln.
5. No offensive or defensive identity that appeals to a certain type of player.

You have to give the fans a lot of credit. Even when their football program has fallen apart, Fuggitol still hasn't become their drug of choice.

This is no shit.
Train for years to play 1.

What's the time and channel for this game?
I don't see it.

Any guesses

Stupidest roidingest football OL you NEVER wanted to face.

Motherfuckers had hooves and a salt lick at every locker room stall.

Make Lane Johnson look like that little bitch getting sand kicked in his face in those Charles Atlas ads you used to see in magazines.

My little brother just sent me this...hope they have an opening.

If Oklahoma starts out the year playing like they did last season Nebraska might have a spot. If they play like they did towards the end, forget it

OU was breaking in a freshman quarterback last year. Rattler got better as the year went on. I don't see that being the case this year.

how much pressure is there on Riley this season to finally break through?

Well with all the preseason hype they are getting I'd say it's mounting

And 6 starters suspended for the first half of the season.

We should have had at least one playoff win by now. If Baker hadnt got the flu I firmly believe we would have beat Ga.

Kyler got the mystery flu too, not as bad as Baker had it, but we still had Moops so it didn’t matter.

After the arrival of Grinch, and seeing the immediate small improvement, I thought we would be 2-3 years away from really competing.

This is it. This is the year. I don’t expect the big trophy but I do expect a CFP win and who knows....anything could happen.

not sure why people blamed Baker when the defense might has well have been pylon cones. Kyler, as usual, came out flat in another big game..

On paper this seems to be the year to breakthrough but I don't think Rattler is on the level of Baker or even Kyler at this point. Mims is a stud WR.. but they need another to step up..

Haselwood will be heathly as will Theo Wease. Also I think freshman Mario Williams and Cody Jackson will contribute right away.

again those are unknowns.. they took an elite class of WRs.. players ranked much higher than Mims and we still are waiting for them to break out.. Who's another high 3 star to low 4 star like Mims or Lamb that was recruited this past class? That's the one who's going to join them tearing up the conference :(

I blame it on a horrible defensive coordinator and a rookie head coach who got a serious case of the yips in OT. We had THREE first team All-Americans on offense and Lincoln Riley's stupid decision to try a field goal instead of going for a first down was a game killer. Lincoln puckered. Pure and simple. I doubt he'd make the same call now with more experience and the ability to trust his playmakers with the game on the line.
