Nebraska Sell Out Streak

I’m just amazed that these guys are saying they’ve know about the donors for years (meaning they knew the “sell outs” weren’t real) and still time and time again I’ve see these guys brag about the “streak” and they are defending it to the death.

The gig is up guys and Pandora is out of the box. Man up and stop promoting some bogus claim.

Since they now have to give tickets away to get people to attend, maybe we should be calling it a giveout streak.
If they werent SOLD first then you might be onto something Sherlock

When have you ever said "ha nebraska sucks" to a nebraska fan and they say "well at least we have the longest sellout streak" ???

seriously.....you're too worked up over this

That would only make sense if the 'average attendance' equaled 'official capacity', but average attendance is thousands higher than official capacity.

It's more a revenue grab by the athletic dept than anything else.

Nebraska official stadium capacity: 85,458
Average attendance: 89,034
3,576 'extra' tickets sold.

To be fair many want to see it end to force the boosters and school to change.

Even if it ended today it would take the next active streak 40 years to surpass us, well past anyone remembering or giving a shit so it's really whatever.

I think it's used more like an approval rating than anything
The streak is fake and make believe so I’m going to claim Coastal Carolina now owns the “streak”. See we just beat you in 10 seconds. That is how BS works, you just make stuff up.

I’m don’t think I’m the one worked up. Just saying.

I wonder what percentage of those were "bought" by the AD and/or donors to be given away in an effort to prop up this ridiculous charade. I'm guessing 25-30%.

Yep. It's been going on a long time. It's common knowledge around here that donors buy up any 'extra available' tickets.
If the tickets were "$old" then it is a "real" sell-out. Derp

Yeah I don’t believe your gate numbers either. See that is what happens when you aren’t truthful and people stop trusting what you say.

To be fair I don’t think anyone in the country counts their attendance anywhere close to actual but you guys actually have incentive to be deceptive.

"Guys! Look, this fucking sellout streak is all we have anymore. We have to buy all remaining tickets and give them to people for free so they'll attend so people think we're still actually selling out."

You started the thread, and have continued cryin about it....

Perception is reality buddy

I'd guess the number is in the 100's at most.

Season Tickets alone are near 80%.

Guys, check out this article. This giving away tickets has been going on since at least 2015. That's at least six years of bullshit streak.

In May, a Nebraska fundraiser told the Associated Press the streak almost ended last year on three different occasions. Jack Pierce said he had to call "friends of the program" to buy up tickets

EVERY ticket entering the stadium has it's barcode digitally scanned with a handheld scanner.

Have you even been to a large sporting event in the last 10 years or are you just an armchair QB?

TheGayMan shows his/her misery insecurities....

Washington official stadium capacity: 70,083.
Average attendance: 69,588
The 'average' does not even meet capacity.

Average attendance: 89,034
3,576 'extra' tickets sold.

"Husky Stadium has an average paid attendance of 69,588, which ranks first in the Pac-12."

I mean… we don’t claim to sell out every game… Someone’s showing their insecurities here. We can pretend it’s me if it makes your day better.
