@Red_Alert yeah most states like TX can continue with charges even with the victim refusing to cooperate or recanting their testimony/statement..However, it's a huge waste of money to attempt to go to trial in these cases. DA can show photos or statements when it happened but once it gets in front of the jury, it's shaky at best with the alleged victim sitting behind the defendant visibly upset. DA want to keep their conviction rate percentage as high as possible, not take a huge risk on incidents like this.
