Never Been To A Bowl Game...

I have been to 30-40 games. Never been to a bowl game. In looking up information about opt outs, transfers, etc. before placing bets, I noticed how many players will not be playing. I could never afford to go to a big bowl game. The Duke's Mayo Bowl is only 3 hours from me, father-in-law has timeshares in Florida, so bowl games there are a possibility, etc. However, seeing the number of players not playing, I might not ever see a bowl game. Ticket prices combined with players out, man, no way. Thoughts?
 
Most of these non-NY bowl tickets can be picked up pretty cheap, especially if a local team isn't in them.
 
At this very moment you can probably get Duke Mayo bowl tickets for literally free.

Guarantee by the time you drive there you can get someone scalping them to just hand em over.

Maybe take a handgun and show them how cool it looks, might help.

I have been to 44 Bowl Games from the 1976 Liberty Bowl to the 2021 Cotton Bowl. For my money, taking everything into consideration, I think a great first Bowl trip would be the Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, AL. As time goes by, I appreciate a good MAC vs. Sun Belt match-up between two teams who will treasure the experience over the bigger more Traditional Games which can be great or can be a drag. It is also played in an old historical stadium built in the 1920's (Crampton Bowl) and is in Downtown Montgomery - walking distance from the State Capitol and the Hilton if you plan ahead of time. Tickets are reasonable and easy to get too. I went to the 2015 and 2016 games and had a BLAST!
 
Been to the Rose Bowl, but that’s it. I saw USC beat the shit out of Michigan. I believe it was in 2007.
 
We hit the Sugar Bowl twice recently when Ole Miss went.

Still waiting on Tech to hit either New Orleans, Shreveport, or Memphis. Also can do Tampa, Orlando, or Miami while visiting in-laws during Christmas break.

Almost worth picking another team to root for if things don’t change for the better. Folks have been asking if the spring game was going to be touch football again as I doubt interest would be high if so. I would love to go bowling again but just hoping for the best while expecting the worst.
 
I played in the Motor City Bowl.

Met Randy Moss afterwards.

Went to it a couple other times. Maybe $20.

Been to all of those! For ease, convenience, fun and game day experience, I would choose the Citrus Bowl on NYD and stay in one of the Downtown Orlando Hotels and walk or shuttle to the game.

I actually had this thought. Being able to walk to the game.

That's the worst part about the Orange Bowl. Miami (wherever you stay is GREAT), and the Stadium is very nice. However, the Hotels are not convenient to walk to the stadium, and the game ends after Midnight with the rare exception of the Clemson-OU CFP semi-final Orange Bowl in the 2015 season that had a 4 pm Kickoff.

Yeah, I doubt I would be going that far south. I had the thought of the Peach Bowl and then the College Football Hall Of Fame. I think the wife is planning a visit to the CFHOF for my 50th.
 
Some of the best games I've been to has been bowl games (2012 Chic-fil-a Bowl and 2014 Orange Bowl).
Bowl games can be fun if you make a trip out of it and explore a new city you never been to
