Nevermind

Yep. Generally I want to say something but I look at who posted stupid bullshit and think it isn't worth my time to get into a drawn out argument with someone who doesn't understand there are two sides to things and sees every discussion ad an attack.

Also a lot of times if I hit the post button I'll see the 3 replies to it and think nah this isn't worth it trying to have a conversation with people who don't want to hear your opinion but wants to hear their opinion coming out of your mouth.

There's a lot of reasons people are on message boards.
But if you think you are here to change people's opinion on things, well, I don't know what to tell you.

Hope that helps.

I like to come here to absorb perspectives from people who live outside my bubble. Absorbing perspectives doesn't mean agreement, it means contemplating something from a different angle. (Yes, if you're actively perceptive, you can even learn shit from tards.) I consider it "compiling wisdom".

If I happen to share my perspective seriously, it's typically with the mentality that maybe someone else is also actively perceptive. My intent isn't to change a mind, but to inject a different angle. If it works, +1 wisdom to them and me.

I often only write the post in my head and then remember the interwebz is most populated by retarded trolls. Then I end up posting this in response.

This is awesome! I’ve never thought deeper on this, but knew I wasn’t going to change minds.

This is exactly why I would post on things...sports, politics, whatever. One of those has become such a siloed shit storm that it’s rarely possible to even get a good read of other view points to help shape my own.

You're solidly in the middle politically imo

Anyone else type up a long reply to a particular post or thread, but then delete it all? Even though it is a complete rebuttal of misinformation from the other(s), but realize that it won't change any minds and only result in attacks on you, not your argument. Ending up a complete waste of time, but also saving time from not having to provide multiple follow-ups in a never ending cycle that runs into a roadblock of preconceived viewpoints that disregards any information to the contrary.

I mean, I enjoy a good debate, but that requires an open mind and mutual respect. "Listening, not just waiting for your time to talk" is a mantra I try to live by, but when someone keys/attacks one small thing while ignoring the other 95% they'd have zero argument against just becomes pointless. Debate then becomes argument and vitriol over meaningless crap, where nothing ever progresses.

I know I've probably deleted more posts than I've actually posted.

Post for entertainment value only. I’m not changing anyone’s mind and they’re probably not changing mine but is interesting seeing other people’s thoughts.

oh and replying in just gifs to chewbaccer... he loves that

Never go FULL PF.

Y'all know why I'm here.

I like to drive by a thread and throw gasoline on the fire, then use one liners and gifs to get whatever fucked up point I'm trying to make.
Then get the hell out of there and go post important stuff in the Music Forum.

Sometimes. Thr ones I do post always have typos, and I don't notice what them until it's too late to edit.

Literally at least twice a week. That's why a lot of my posts are jokes, gifs, or short responses most of the time.
