New SEC Alignment

While, I am playing this game, check this out for the newcomers:

Oklahoma:

2 OOC games
East Division Game (EDG)
Arkansas
Missouri
Texas
Ole Miss
Miss State
Texas A&M
LSU
EDG
Oklahoma State (if it can be saved)

Texas:

3 OOC games
EDG
Missouri
Ole Miss
Oklahoma
EDG
Miss State
LSU
Arkansas
Texas A&M

Pretty cool schedules, huh? Not sure of order of games but this wound be the roundup. Some intriguing matchups for both OU and Texas on those slates, even in their division.

Still goes 1-2

People laugh but Missouri and South Carolina are not push overs. South Carolina has a new coach but right now they are # 14 in the recruiting rankings. They are perennially a 6-6 to 9-3 team in that range but they tend to give at least one SEC power fits every year. Missouri is very up and down but they have a history (even when they were in the Big12/Big 8) of giving quality teams a major challenge. Both are also notorious for losing to bad teams as well. They tend to beat a good team or two every year but also lose to someone they are supposed to beat as well.

Anyone that lives north of I-10 is a damn yankee.
Fact!!

My rule of thumb is if you can go to a restaurant and order Sweet Tea without them making a face at you, you are in the South.

For the Pod System fans, how do you retain the following rivalries in your scenario:

Tennessee-Kentucky
Georgia-Auburn
Texas A&M/Arkansas-LSU depending on which pod system you go with
Tennessee-Florida
Kentucky-Vanderbilt
Georgia-Auburn is the only one worth saving. A couple more SECCG matchups and it’s the most played game in FBS history

I always liked this one when I lived in Mississippi.

"The difference between a Yankee and a Damn Yankee... A Yankee comes down to visit, a Damn Yankee comes down and stays."

Yeah, it wouldn't work where I am at, Nashville is 85% Yankee now lol. I have to tell people that I am a "local" because that is becoming rare.

The annual LSU game is one I would like to keep. But rivalries come and go. The Tennessee game, while sometimes competitive, doesn’t have a rivalry feel to it anymore.

I’m okay with starting something new if some get chopped. But give the Gators a decent team as a replacement.

I'm liking the LSU vs Texas A&M game. It's starting to get pretty heated and between those two so I'd hate for it to "cool" down. Let them boys beat each other up every year.

When your conference has to go from divisions to pods, you know your conference is too big and you shouldn't do it.

Everything has a price tag little duckling.

I like the pod system

I posted this same alignment the other day in one of the other threads. It makes the most sense. Each one of those pods has two teams that are pretty good and two others that suck, but things may not stay that way forever.

If they wanna stay with just two divisions, the other thing they could do would be a "North-South" grouping:

Kentucky, Vandy, Tenn, Missou, Oklahoma, Bama, Arkansas, South Carolina

Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Miss, MSU, LSU, A&M, Tex
