New SEC Alignment

Just don’t see LSU vs Bama or Ole Miss vs Bama as historic rivalries. LSU v Bama grew,if they don’t smoke cigars after that game. They still do that after beating a 4 win Tennessee team.
Oh LSU vs Bama is a big deal. Has been for years even before they won their recent titles.

congrats on being good when my grandpa was a kid. sorry you are no longer that team? Players today want to play for the good teams of today not yesterday. some have stayed there some have not. some have moved up and recruiting and on field results show it.
So the Huskers were in their Conference Champioship games in 2009, & 2012. I call bullshit!!

you're right when my grandpa was a kid Nebraska was trash

That is possible. Just saw a report (rumor) that Bama was one of strongest proponents of bringing in Texas and would like a game with Texas. It’s been a decade plus, since Texas could be a threat to Bama.
With pods, they get them every other year. With divisions, every 4 years. That's why I prefer pods.

Only issue with pods is it exacerbates an already uneven schedule

Not following, how so? Most pod scenarios seem rather balanced. They you play everyone each year.

I with the Dawggy...I don't understand why its a scheduling problem. I'm leaning towards PODS also but don't care because Auburn wins no matter what. We gain EVERYTHING we have lost in other expansions and lose nothing of value plus double our revenue. I'm ecstatic.

Need some help from you old school sec hicks and hillbillies

what if the organizational scheme was:
Each team has two perm rivals they play each year, and rotate home and aways with all other teams in the conference.

TEXAS: OU and TAMU
OU: TX and MIZZOU
TAMU: TEXAS and LSU
AUBURN: BAMA and UGA
UGA: AUBURN and FLORIDA
LSU: TAMU and OLE MISS
MIZZOU: OU and ARKANSAS
ARKANSAS: MIZZOU and KENTUCKY
OLE MISS: MISS ST and LSU
MISS ST: OLE MISS and BAMA
KENTUCKY: TENN and ARKANSAS
TENNESSEE: VANDY and KENTUCKY
VANDY: TENN and SCAR
BAMA: MISS ST and AUBURN
SCAR: FLORIDA and VANDY
FLORIDA: UGA and SCAR

this seems fair. The only potential change I might make is have MISS ST play TAMU and therefore LSU play BAMA.
Pods are better than Divisions, and this is better than pods.

screw pods they only favor..
roll..

It’s basically rotating divisions. Some years 2 best pods meet, while the 2 worst meet. Plus I like playing 7-9 teams every year. Familiarity builds contempt or rivalries in sports. Not a fan of playing 3-4 teams every year and the rest rotating

Not how pods work … play your pod (3 games), 2 teams from the other 3 pods (6 games). Next year play the other 6 teams in the other pods.

9 teams each year.

No more or less balanced than divisions.

Playing teams every other year way better than every 6 years like we do now.

LSU’s main rival (in my mind anyway) has always been Ole Miss .
Always has been for me, going back to the mid '60s, and the game should be played Halloween week.

Anyone that lives north of I-10 is a damn yankee.
Fact!!
When I was living in Lake Charles, I said the same thing. Now that I'm living a few miles west of Natchez, MS, I've changed it to anyone living north of I-20 is a damn yankee, which includes most of Shreveport and all of Bossier City. Damn yankees.

I'm liking the LSU vs Texas A&M game. It's starting to get pretty heated and between those two so I'd hate for it to "cool" down. Let them boys beat each other up every year.
LSU/TAM is just another conference game, much like LSU/Vandy. For me, the LSU/MissSt. game carries more "heat" than TAM.

can't wait for the UT/LSU game, it was a good time in Austin meeting up with LSU fans.. Can't wait to take a trip to BR
