Series Thread NLDS Braves vs Brewers

Morton vs Lauer on the mound today. I figured a bullpen day, but i don't mind going for it all today and avoiding Burnes in game 5, if possible.

Don’t like it, but I understand it. Never know how short rest is gonna effect a pitcher and it’s probably 5 innings tops
 
I understand using Morton today, but I would have rather tried to win with Ynoa/Smyly and have Morton as the fallback for game 5 if needed.

I’d like to have a fully rested Morton and Fried to start the NLCS, which would have been possible if we won today with Ynoa/Smyly. Now if we lose today, we won’t have Morton’s winner take all magic for Game 5

I know it would screw up the order of rotation but IF we advance tonight we could still have Morton for game 2 of NLCS on normal rest

That would be fine. Just want some combination of Morton and Fried.

I really hope we end it tonight. So far this series is really paralleling the 2019 NLDS
 
FUCK. Soler tested positive for covid. Pache has replaced him on the roster. Dansby batting leadoff. Heredia in lineup

Why Heredia?

Just put Rosario back in the lineup. Heredia might be my least favorite Brave of all time

Probably defensive reasons. Joc, Duval, and Rosario is not a great outfield. Rosario being the weakest link.

I'm not sure if covid makes it any different, but typically if you go to the IL, you have to miss the next playoff series as well. So I'm not sure if this means he'll be out for the NLCS if they are actually able to move on.

If he’s vaccinated and not showing any symptoms the whole thing is a sham.

Defense is important, but I’ll swap defense for offense any day. Heredia is a late inning defensive sub. That’s all he’s ever gonna be. We basically have 2 pitchers in the lineup now. I l’d consider starting Ynoa just because of his bat
