On April 1, 2008, then Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich declared the day "Cheap Trick Day" in honor of its native sons. The band, being from Rockford, IL were very honored.
Today, 15 years later, Cheap Trick is still rockin'!!! Governor Blagojevich (yeah, try spelling that with spell check on) like many other Illinois Governors, ended up in jail and has recently been released. And it had nothing to do with making April 1st "Cheap Trick Day".
