Forget about the weekend series to close the season, this is for the playoff spot. Whichever team wins this series will own the head-to-head tiebreaker. If the Mets win 2 of 3, they will clinch one of the wildcards. If the Braves sweep or go 2-1, they will have the upper hand going into the KC series. Mets would close the season on the road at Milwaukee, needing to sweep, most likely. There's an outside chance they both make the playoffs if the Diamondbacks go on a losing streak.
Mets without Lindor and McNeil, Braves missing Riley and Acuna.
Both teams have won 4 of their last 5. Mets are 7-3 in their last ten, Braves are 6-4. Season series is 5-5. Mets have score 49 runs in their head to head matchups, Braves have scored 47.
Baseball is dead to me, but the playoffs are already here.
