Recruiting/offensive scheme/QB play

Yeah but you would think a program like Oklahoma with its winning tradition could at least get a B+ Defense and not this D- Defense (haha pun intended).

No matter how wide open offenses have been in the SEC in the past, there are still SEC programs that committed to defense and slowed down these offenses. The only offense that was never 100% slowed down was Spurrier's Florida teams with Wuerffel. People figured him out later though and slowed him down. Even Urban Meyer's offenses were slowed down by UGA, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and even Tennessee at times (2006 TN held Florida's offense in check for example).

So, is our D going to lay down in the 2nd half again? Offense go impotent? Turnover orgy? Or special teams. Multiple choice allowed.

No idea with this team. I'm loaded up on vodka for whatever happens.

I put all of my plantation dollars on Oklahoma, so pull your shit together!

Well there is the problem...

On a serious note, I am wondering if it has something to do with Texas High School Football. Texas A&M has had issues in the SEC as well playing defense at times. I am wondering if Texas High School Talent does not emphasis the defensive play that you see in other regions, especially the deep south states of Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.

Could be, but I also suspect it's due to the emphasis or lack thereof with the programs themselves. Aside from OK in the 80's the conference has never been a stalwart for defense

Penalties, penalties, penalties

We. Can't. Tackle.

Pathetic just pathetic

Early 2000s and 1990s, they had great defenses.

Nebraska was always a defensive powerhouse. Colorado had some great defenses and won with them. Kansas State under Snyder. Etc. Even OU cut its teeth under Bob Stoops in the early years with dominate defenses. Stoops had been the defensive coordinator at Florida under Spurrier.

We are allergic to turnovers

Just a lot of ugly football this year. Texas has like 4-5 plays of 30+ yards on busted coverages vs TCU. You don’t see that from Patterson teams usually.

I would counter they were good relatively speaking to the conference. But compared to others? Not so much
