Opposite day Monday

When I broke my ankle after Ski Patrol Baywatch'd me, they told me that people traditionally break their wrists far more often than ankles while snowboarding. Apparently you're supposed to be able to brace yourself better with your arms while falling snowboarding? Who'da thought?
Not surprised, honestly. It's kind of a reflex to put your hand down to catch yourself when you fall, and that's the easiest way to break your wrist/forearm.

Bottles my mind how people with real jobs don't do everything they can to protect themselves while doing rec shit. I wear all pro-spec gear while playing goalie and skating out in hockey. Seen countless dudes shatter their elbows while falling with no pads, separate their shoulders on falls, shatter collarbones while playing goalie... like you're not getting paid to do this shit and you aren't a "badass" for not wearing pads.

But I iz not good at heel side, so I fallz mostly toe side.

Did that about 10 years ago.. Snow then all of a sudden huge ice patch.. Lost the edge fell backwards slamming my head onto the ice. I was knocked out for a few seconds.. If I hadn't been wearing a helmet I most likely would have had a full blown concussion.. Snowboard falls suck, especially when you are 6'5"... Haven't been since. LOL
I haven't been since I broke my collarbone last winter. This year has been shitty for snow around here. Want to get back out there, but it might not be until next winter at this point.

That's how I broke mine a few years back playing basketball.

You're still kinda falling face first if you're going toe side, normal reaction is to put your hands out. I have forced myself to keep my hands up multiple times.

We got 4-5 inches of snow on Saturday. Mr. Kobe said that helped our local hill quite a bit. Might take Lil' Kobe out later this week.

Ended up going 40 on the interstate for half the trip in that shit.

Was fun with all the wind and snow while boarding though.
