GAME Orange Bowl: #6 TENN vs #7 CLEMSON • ESPN • 8ET

Clemson QB trying to take a Safety on a roll out?

DB should’ve knocked that down instead of picking off, cost them about 16 yards

I am not going to criticize getting the INT. What if he had knocked it down and a Clemson player dove and caught it?

Yeah I know Milton doesn't have the accuracy/decisions of Hooker but he is vastly improved from Michigan. He is still one of the better QBs if you compare him with some of our past options (Josh Dobbs being the exception).

BTW, Josh Dobbs started his first NFL game last night for the Titans.
He looks the same to me. Clemson hasn't put much pressure on him -- That is when you will see the issues with Milton. Tennessee has game planned great for him -- keeping majority of the throws on slants and shorter intermediate routes. He is very good at those throws.

Believe me when I say -- you will have more than one game next year where you are screaming for Milton's head. He is about as frustrating a QB as you will find in CFB. He will look like a #1 NFL pick on one throw and look like a pop warner QB on the next.

There was no Clemson player right in front of him. Could’ve spiked it down. Not a huge deal by any means. Most importantly got ball back

Ugh... in the first half they were getting to him a lot. We have held up better in second half but I think that is because our run game started getting production. We had no run game in first half.

Don't worry, my expectations are tempered for next year. Probably looking at 8-4 or 9-3 type season. Still would be one of our better seasons would compared to Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt eras lol.

You're an idiot. If the receiver wasn't wide open (he had to nearly stop) that duck could have easily been a pick. At the very minimum batted away.
He was wide open -- he let the WR run under it. I've watched Milton play more than anyone in this thread. He was our starting QB. At UM, he would have tried throwing it 100 mph on a line to the guy.

And the guy was open by 5 yards -- who was picking it off genius?

Stranger things plus it is easy to be an armchair player. We are not on the field making split decisions. If the decision is to pick it off, I support that even if it could have been better to knock it down.

Our offense was too conservative their. We really need a first down.

Wow what was # 10 doing for Clemson. Easy catch there.

6:20? Need two scores in a major bowl?

Tell me you never played football without telling me you never played football.

Run it one more time and kick the field goal

Yeah, it actually looks like they want to be there.

Both teams were playing their second string most the game on offense (defense was mostly starters). Our second string just played better. However, a lot of the team you are seeing is the 2023 Vols. Hopefully we keep this up and improve next year. 2022 will be very hard to replicate but we could still have a good season in 2023 even if it maybe a down season.
