GAME ORANGE BOWL (CFP Semi): #7 ND vs #6 PSU • 6:30c • ESPN

Considering what Penn State has had to overcome and then looking at Franklin's success at both Vandy (which is one of the toughest jobs in the country) and then at Penn State it would be hard to replace him and do better.

I'd put Franklin in the top 15 of coaches in the country and would listen to arguments that he should be top 10.
Penn St name pretty much recruits itself.

Since I can remember I've had two favorite teams every weekend. My favorite team every Saturday was Notre Dame's opponent. My favorite team every Sunday was the Dallas Cowboys' opponent. I still hate the Cowboys.

But ever since Notre Dame hired Marcus Freeman I had to remove my total disdain for the Irish. That guy is impossible to hate. He's humble...opposite of most of these arrogant pricks that coach CFB nowadays.

Damn you Marcus Freeman. Why can't you be easier to hate?
Really? I have no issue hating him. Everything about him is a fucking fake, from his hairline to his "I'm a family man". Dude was caught on camera with his side chick. :L

You said “anyone else in the playoff.” Try reading. Especially your own posts

All caps? What a bitch. Did Indiana? Did Tenneseee? Did Ohio State? Notre Dame was not the only team in the playoffs that didn’t play a conference championship game.

Quit being a moron.

The best part was with his math where he didn’t realize Notre dame was 14-1

Two years, and your last representative is a team that was in the Big 12 last year. And next year isn't looking much better for the SEC.
Swing and a miss - your conference champ was in the PAC last year.

Not sure why you think the SEC won't be better next year. We will be good, not sure about Bama, but Texas likely to be good. Lot's of other teams will be solid. USCjr, UF looked better at the end of the year. Ole Miss could be good.

Hell, you guys lose your entire D except S. You will have a new QB. UM will be better but nothing to shout about. PSU? Oregon will be overrated like usual.

Not sure where your B1G > SEC comes from.

So, I stand by my point ... after dominating for 2 decades, 2 years is a small sample size.

Bama isn't Bama anymore. You SEC honks have got to realize that. Saban is gone and he's not coming back. The talent is there but the coaching clearly isn't.

OSU loses a lot on defense but has plenty of returning talent that has played a lot of meaningful snaps, especially on the DL. They will still be an elite team next year. Sayin is a phenomenal fit for our offense and we will still have one of the top skill position rooms in the nation.

Georgia is talented like usual, but who's the QB? Who are the WRs/RBs that are going to be special? Ole Miss will shit the bed like always. Florida could be good but still has questions. A&M is constantly fraudulent, and LSU is a paper tiger. Texas will be the best in the conference most likely. Who else is there that's worth a damn? Tennessee?

PAC was the best conference in 2023...and b1g got the best of those teams.

SEC continues to be a step behind.

Doubt it will continue as the SEC still gets the most talent in the country but it would be hard to argue SEC over B1G for THIS season
2nd season in a row sec takes a backseat. The drop this year was staggering.

You say that Sayin is the guy, but then questioning UGA's QB room? How about we agree that both UGA and tOSU will be starting new QBs with no experience so there is a question mark there.

Your D is going to take a stop back ... I don't care how many people had meaningful snaps. You are going to lose 10 players on D. It will be good, but it won't be like you had this year. Trsut me, I get it. I saw what happened in 2023/2024 when we lost all those guys in 2021/2022. It happens. Still good but not great.

I won't go into detail on WR, but we have done great in the portal. And RBs we will be great absent injuries. Our concern will be OL.

As to your quick review of the SEC, you were the one saying the SEC was going to take a step back. Now do the B1G. Same thing.

When the flagship program in the league loses the GOAT coach, not surprising there is a step back. But, the SEC continues to recruit better than the B1G, still in the south where the most recruits are. Has NIL/Transfer portal/CFP-12 driven parity? Sure has and you know I have advocated for that here even though it was against my best interests. But the SEC isn't going anywhere.

As for the SEC drop being staggering, I would still argue we were a better top to bottom conference than the B1G. The B1G's top teams proved they were better than the SEC this year, no denying that. But the B1G still lacks depth. You have a lot of terrible teams mid and down, whereas the SEC was much stronger mid and down.

Yup:

8 of the top 11. Half the conference:
