Me thinks IF we had an 8 or 12 team playoff right now, you would not want to draw Utah as your opponent.A couple of things I was very impressed with last night:
The Pac-12 made a GREAT decision moving the Pac Championship to Las Vegas. Allegiant Stadium looks awesome, and it was rockin' last night! Those Ute fans were incredible.
Utah has a nasty good football team, and I look forward to the Rose Bowl vs. Ohio State! The Buckeyes better not still be pouting about losing to Michigan.
Oregon will be fine. They had a really good year. Sometimes, the other team is just better.

Then give them a “most improved team” award, not a shot at the NT.Which is why we should have a 12 team playoff. Utah's last loss was half a regular season ago.

And the Ducks still wouldn’t get in...Me thinks IF we had an 8 or 12 team playoff right now, you would not want to draw Utah as your opponent.
Yep. And that "Every game should matter" crap sounds fine theoretically.Which is why we should have a 12 team playoff. Utah's last loss was half a regular season ago.

But I heard 'em say today that there is a potential that 7 teams still have a shot at getting the three remaining spots. Think how many temas would still have a shot this late if it were 12? Interest deeper into the season would increase dramatically IMHO.
He's one of the top five coaches in CFB IMO. And not just this year. Pretty damn consistently successful with less than all the ballyhooed talent.Commence Turkey Day 2022 vacay…..

IMO they'd win more of those than they'd lose right now.Yep.
By all appearances Michigan, Bama, Cincy, Okie Jr, ND, Ohio St, Ole Miss, Baylor are all playing to get a shot at Georgia.
I think Utah could hold their own against those.
Oregon did win @ Ohio St.

What's the deal with that? Why doesn't Oregon have a competent QB? Did you have one that got injured early or something? With all the hype around the program and all the props Oregon gets for recruiting, how on earth did you guys end up with a crap sandwich as your best option for QB?Look forward to seeing Ohio State vs. Utah in the Rose Bowl.
Since Ohio State actually has a competent QB, I would expect the games to be very different from the Oregon matchups.

I mean UW had nothing for QB as well, but that's why that staff got fired so quickly. There can't be an excuse why Oregon can't put an above average QB on the field.
You will at the least have a new OC next year so maybe fresh eyes will find the right kid off the bench. It's pretty pathetic to be sure, especially since QB play was a big problem down the stretch last season as well.
There's talented freshman QBs waiting in the wings, so it begs the question:
1. Are they unwilling to deviate from the named starter, no matter how bad he plays?
2. Did they completely whiff on the highly touted QBs they signed the past 2 classes?
3. Are they incapable of developing QBs?
I'll say this for Oregon. If you guys do find a good QB you're going to be hell on wheels. There's a lot of talent on that squad. The coaching's there too. It's pretty pathetic to be sure, especially since QB play was a big problem down the stretch last season as well.

As bad as their QB has been, I would be a lot more concerned with both lines if I was a duck fan. They were entirely dominated by Utah in both trenches. Stanford as well. And they had too many close games with just so-so line play to be considered on the doorstep of the next level.I'll say this for Oregon.
