GAME Oregon State at Washington, 8 pm PST, FS1

Lol fucking tristan gebbia terrible terrible final drive

Nebraska transfer.....nuff said
Beavs didn't score in the second half. It wasn't just that final drive. Neither team wanted to push the ball downfield though. It was a ground and pound kind of game and when they had to pass it wasn't pretty for Gebbia.

I watched 21 24 forever.... very lack luster performances

When are they going to actually look at how badly most of the targeting calls have been and modify the rule to stop leaving so much room for bad calls?

When sissy rules makers accept that it's football, it's a violent sport and you can get hurt playing it.

So never.

So where will UW be ranked after that impressive performance?

Pretty high. A few weeks ago, after a single game against an opponent of about the same quality, Wisconsin was rated pretty high. Why not the Huskies?

Again, I'm not asking for it to entirely be removed. Just saying we keep seeing weak interpretations and errors in interpretations of somewhat vague rules.

Stop leaving that room. Narrow down the wording to remove the abuse of the rule.

I agree. I don't want the rule removed entirely either. The problem is that they've taken what used to be known as "spearing" and was a relatively easy call and turned it into this "targeting" mess that no 2 referees seem to be able to agree on. When targeting is called on incidental contact, that's a problem. When the penalty called, it's reviewed and is shown not to be targeting, the player gets to stay in the game, but the penalty yardage is still assessed it's beyond stupid.

To be completely fair, part of the problem is that players either aren't being taught how to tackle properly or they are ignoring what they are taught. Proper technique would eliminate many of the targeting calls that we see.
