Oregon to put all their Chips in?

Chip Kelly is 58 years old. Although Kelly could still potentially have at least 10 years left of solid coaching, he may be looking at a decision soon. Kelly is a very competitive guy and as with any coach, his ultimate goal would be to win a national championship. Depending on how much longer Kelly wants to coach, he has to look at what is the best path to obtain that national title?

Does he see it staying in UCLA? Where there may soon be a resurgence at USC? Even if he chooses to stay at UCLA, is he banking that UCLA will offer him an extension and he can stay there longer then just after next season? Say he does get that extension, does he see that he can win a national title at UCLA within the next 4-5 years?

Or does Kelly find what Oregon has in place the best possible route to obtaining a national title? Does Kelly look at the Oregon roster and what it will be starting next year and the next two years and see talent from top to bottom that is capable of winning a national title? We have been told Kelly doesn't like to recruit, but if he comes to Oregon for just 2-3 years with the sole goal to take over coaching duties and to win a national title, he wouldn't need to recruit.

Does the U of O see what is on this roster and know Kelly is the guy who could come in and inherit the talent and get the Ducks onto the mountain top? See's that in the next 2-3 years the Ducks raising the National Championship trophy? Go all in for the next 2-3 years with this current roster, incoming roster and Kelly as head coach?

Kelly could achieve the national championship at Oregon with the Ducks current talent. Does he want to come to Eugene and stay for 2-3 years to achieve that goal and then ride off into the sunset into retirement? Ending his coaching career with two stints at Oregon, with one being for 4 years where he took the Ducks to a National Championship game and four straight BCS Bowl games, only to leave and come back and finally bring a national championship to Oregon.

I’m betting Oregon could approach UCLA and basically work out a deal for a reduced buyout or they will wait until Jan 15th and it will be harder for UCLA to get into the coach search.
