OREGON to the B1G

Oh damn. This has done a full 180 in a matter of hours. Looks like Oregon is stuck in a dead conference after all.

Guy is an f'ing cardiac surgeon.

How are these old wealthy fools who have nothing to do with sports controlling the future of college sports?

Like seriously...

No wonder why things are the way they are.

They'll make the CFP EVERY year, so at least they'll have that.

I don't know, but I too am interested in this "more money" and how to find it.
hook a brother up when it's source is found.

Oregon now expected to stay in P12. Zona looking like it too?

Is the PACC23 gonna happen now?!

So where did 'more money' come from all of a sudden

Or lack thereof once they crunched the travel and logistics numbers.

Maybe the Big 10 offer wasn't enough and/or Oregon was jealous of USC/UCLA getting full share distributions? The Big 10's not taking Washington without Oregon. They'd want 2.

Last ditch effort by Stanford/Cal/OSU/WSU?

I seem to recall a push from Oregon and Washington about demanding unequal revenue distribution that would result in more money for each of them.

Maybe that is under consideration?

Also, it's not like the PAC 12 suddenly loses it's P5 standing, even if Oregon and Washington leave. The conference champ would still be in the playoff. Pretty much guarantees cfp for either program every year and probably both most years.

I don't see how they're going to split up the money in a way that's going to make enough parties happy. And while Oregon may have better playoff access in the PAC, they can't afford to play all of their games on a streaming platform behind a paywall IMO.

Either something changed in the media deal or this is a huge mistake for most involved.

You know what would really be stupid? If this was all a smoke screen so UO/UW/Big Ten could blame the collapse of the PAC on Arizona and the Big 12. But yet, less stupid than taking that Apple deal.

Good news for Oregon fans, Apple TV is only $5/month

Yeah, I'd expect that something would have had to have changed significantly for them to be leaning towards staying.

Maybe it's a bluff to see if they can get the B1G to up the offer?

There were no votes at the Washington BOR meeting last night. No actual decision made.

I would caution reading too much into the stories about UW and Oregon both pushing for the Pac to remain in tact. There are people from inside both saying that, but are they just pushing for more from the B1G? Did the B1G actually formalize an offer in the first place?

Too much chance that misinformation comes out from all sides to further push agendas.

It isn't over yet.

Agreed. Signing this Apple deal just doesn't make sense for anyone besides Stanford, Cal, OSU, and WSU

Interesting point brought up on Dan Patrick. Can Oregon and Washington leave without taking Oregon St. and Wazzou?
