OREGON to the B1G

I don't see Washington turning down an invite from the B1G. It's a sports related move and Washington cares about its sports programs.

Stanford, and to a lesser extent Cal, don't value sports like Washington does, so I could see them turning it down based on believing that the travel would hurt their athletes academically.
Honestly, I can't imagine anyone wanting either one of them. The bullshit that comes out of both Stanford and Berkley is next level and who in their right mind would want to deal with that crap.

That can’t be right. @OregonDucks sources say the Ducks to the B1G by Friday

I wouldn't say anything definitive right now since things are a fluid mess in the PAC.

Remember Perlman and Osborne met with Delaney at his remote North Carolina cabin regarding the jump to the Big 10. They were sworn to secrecy on the trip and anything discussed.
Delaney's kid even picked them up from their hotel for the 1 hour drive to the cabin. They were instructed to not even talk about it with Delaney's kid.

I imagine a lot of high level people at effected university and conference offices are working overtime right now.

There's a good chance UO and UW end up in the Big Ten but they're going to get an very unfavorable deal relative to their value. Big Ten just needs to make sure it's better than what the Big 12 can offer. There's no way to say UO/UW have more leverage now, the opposite is true. However, there are less obstacles to Big Ten western expansion today and there will be even less if Arizona and others leave.

This guy is a dork, but he has been right on some rumors before. Also wrong so it take with a grain of salt

This week doesn’t feel like a realistic timeline but things are definitely happening behind the scenes

I said by Friday! LET IT BEGIN!
ZERO CHANCE

If they B1G could get Clemson and Florida State (which won’t with GOR), why would they settle for Oregon/Washington after that ?

Oregon and Washington at a reduced payout (6 years?) makes sense because the new Big 10 media rights contract expires in 6 years (2029/2030).

That would give all parties a few years to work out any travel logistics issues and be ready for a new media rights contract in 2029/2030.

Oregon was 12th in viewership last season. That bested USC (14th), FSU (15th), Nebraska (16th), and Oklahoma (23rd). That puts Oregon 4th in the Big 10 behind Ohio St (1st), Michigan (3rd), and Penn St (9th).

Washington lagged at 34th, but both team's viewership would increase significantly playing a Big 10 schedule. There's just more population watching CFB in the Big 10.

You can be sure there are a lot of talks going on behind the scenes right now. There's just too much money involved for there not to be.

Reports are that FSU is negotiating a $300 mil buyout at $30 per year. The BIG pats out $30 mil a year more. Plus they have a new tv deal coming up in the next few years and will only increase. Probably a similar situation for other teams.

Odds are against it, but it’s more than a zero chance.

Lol allegedly. Sounds like more media shit thrown at a wall to get article clicks. If it’s true they could get reduced to $300 million buyout, nobody is paying that much.

Again I doubt it too, but its not inconceivable to pay that much over 10 years when they are going to making $30 mil a year extra in the BIG and a new tv deal in the second half of that span that will only increase that difference. And they get out of a failing conference before its too late.

I don't think money is ever going to be the barrier. The move will eventually pay off; and now teams in dying conferences are getting FOMO. Last thing you want is to be a team on the outside looking in.
