Overreaction Monday

I don't either. Hence why I have like 455+ hours of sick time...

Eh, I like those odds a lot better now...

Our sick time isn't really monitored... I'm guessing HR keeps track of it somewhere, but we don't have a set number of sick days.

Cards only one game back, play lolMets next.

Ours technically is since we have to put in our own time each week online and it takes away "sick, personal etc" Not sure how closely it is monitored but I don't ever have to worry about it as I have plenty of time anyway

I don't abuse sick days.... And there are about 40 people in the building. I'd guess I'd have a 1 in 10-15 chance of getting it.
I abused the fuck out of sick time when I was in my early 20's. I was the first guy ever written up for it at the state facility I worked at then.
Used it to contract on the side in order to meet my outrageous child support payments.

I want to say $325 was about the price we paid for a bar and about that much weight about 5 years ago.

$300 ish for a 300lbs set of weights/bar was the standard forever. Now the “new normal” is over twice that cost giving people even less incentive to workout and stay healthy.

hoping for a pretty laid back week

volleyball playoffs start tomorrow night and it is our last week of regular golf league on Wednesday. Next week is our season ending best ball tournament.

my men's tennis league wrapped up on Saturday...we did not do great.

Michigan game was electric. Sat with a bunch Washington fans. We all were upset about our respective teams play calling. 49ers game was going great until the 4th quarter. It became way too close for comfort. Should have never been that way.
If that 4th quarter disappointed you, I'd recommend not watching them next Sunday.

the Chargers fans and WFT fans in my section were good. Some good spirited ribbing and it was a close game...but after the Football Team fans hung their heads and went home, no issues.
good to hear they didn't need you to intervene should things have gone awry.

my old role I had sick time, once we got so much it rolled into vacation time

I took few sick days when I wasn't all that sick, but decided ahh fuck it

I took one sick out spite when they made me use a vacation day I felt qualified for sick day

Currently, i have no sick days, If I'm sick, I"m sick and just call in. It's not tracked, but if my boss was concerned, he could start noting it to HR

Sick days were a dirty little secret in retail at my old job. I was legit floored when I left to go to a different department, and they encouraged using sick time. It was like getting an extra week off work.

I have "unlimited" time off now, plus sick days. Hardly ever use the sick time, because I don't want to deal with HR. Usually take 3-4 weeks off a year. Now that I'm fully remote, might look into taking more trips and working during them. Will have to see which places we go to that might be conducive to that.

U allows a lot flexibility of sick time, but old supervisor didn't, she only allowed for what was listed in policy. Policy only dictates what they can't deny...anything else was department discretion

I was irritated because my supervisor was very by the book and ignored the at the departments discretion portion

I could use sick time for dentist appointments so always tried to make sure to schedule in middle afternoon so it was late enough they didn't expect me back in office and early enough I'd still get home an hour or so early

Yeah, retail didn't want you to not show up to work. They were 100% expecting you to never call out or only use personal time. They didn't even tell us sick time was an option to use.

I never worked full time retail so didn't get any PTO in my roles

I have a fever of 102

Can you find anyone to take your shift

ah, no

Ok, see you at 4

I worked through the week that I had COVID...I even told them I had it and they asked "well can you still fill in for your boss while he is on vacation? No one else can."

that week wasn't fun

So apparently they didn't care about your safety or other employees safety. Nice to know
