PAC News

From what I've heard, UCLA's athletic department was upside down financially and the revenue they will get from the B1G goes a long way towards correcting that.
That’s what I remember reading. UCLA was in the same position financially that Maryland was when they decided B1G money would get them out of the hole.

Check out the NC ratings when it was 2 SEC teams. Lowest in years.

Again, I am not sure what you do. You can't make kids go to certain schools. You can't make certain schools spend more on CFB. But wi the 12 team CFP you have a chance with AQs to at least have every fanbase with some level of access, even if remote.
Promotion/Relegation style as a few have stated:
133 Teams

40 teams in the top tier
With Bottom 5 go down

43 teams in mid tier
Top 5 go up
Bottom 5 go down

50 teams in bottom tier
Top 5 Go Up

Completely Points Based to determine who moves up and down
Payouts Based on which Tier you are in
Still have a playoff/NC at the top tier
All other sports in regional conferences.

And yes, I know this will never happen but it’d be fun as hell.

Always been of this mindset. Though I prefer the "premier conference" to be 20 teams, with bottom 3 relegated and top two deciding the championship on the field.

Imagine the games throughout the year in a 20 team premier conference CFB.

Just another example of how out of touch with reality the “ leadership “ of that conference was. Reminds me a lot of the old BigEast goofs that refused to see the writing on the wall about basketball no longer being the financial bell cow.

So the remaining PAC schools are now looking to poach several AAC schools? Is that what's happening?

I seriously doubt it as geographically its a horrible fit and I doubt the conference would generate enough review to justify the travel.

The MWC makes more sense but their buyout is 30mm and honestly they can hold out and get WSU and OSU for free most likely. I could see some type of merger where the MWC basically takes over the PAC and rebrands as the PAC but it will be tough for teams to buyout themselves out to join.

That makes the most sense to me, since it avoids the buyout. Just WEIRD, though

You watch pride will make it impossible to do what makes the most sense. The PAC has literally made the wrong decision at every turn and that isn't an exaggeration.

Pac supposed to be getting some 400mil that will only go to the 4 to do as they please with so rumors are to help pay any buy outs

Where is the 400mil coming from and what makes you think schools won't just pocket it?

There was a point in the old Big West Football conference where Arkansas State, La Tech, UL-Lafayette and Northern Illinois were members lol. With Nevada, UNLV, San Jose State, Pacific, New Mexico State & Utah State. This would be somewhat reminiscent of that.

emergence conference fund which is not the schools money but rather conference shared money.
Payouts for this year and the bylaws about them are being reviewed as to if it will still be distributed equally or if the conference and the remaining schools can argue for more vs the teams that are leaving.
