I'm in.

Was always going to happen. What’s to stop some mediocre team like Jacksonville or San Diego from just hiring a dwarf and throwing him over the line-to-gain?

Upon reflection, never mind. That would be awesome.

Seems like the Cardinals could do that already.

Whoever coined the phrase tush push is a homo.

Packers are also trying to ban Dallas Goedert from stiff arming their defenders on his way to the endzone.....

That play should not be banned.

One of the primary objectives of NFL offenses is to design and execute a play that is unstoppable. The Eagles found one. They have the right personnel to make it a nearly guaranteed success. Good for them. They SHOULD exploit that advantage while they can.

1) It's up to NFL defenses to figure out how to defend it.
2) That personnel advantage won't last forever.
3) Play better defense on preceding downs.

The Packers did that very same play last season and the announcer called it the Love Shove.

Hahaha
The Packers stated (laughably) that the play had no business being there because it required no skill whatsoever. ROFL, so the Packers are saying that they're so bad, they can't even execute a play that requires no skill.

It requires size, coordination and leverage.

Size is not a skill, but coordination and leverage are.

Somewhat less gay than tush push, but still pretty gay.

I heard an announcer refer to it as the brotherly shove which as a play on Philadelphia being the City of Brotherly Love, I thought was pretty clever and only slightly gay.

Could you imagine the pick six?

Seems like a natural follow-on to the ‘Assisting the Runner’ rules in the NFL:

Article 4. Assisting The Runner And
Interlocking Interference
No offensive player may:
(a) pull a runner in any direction at any time; (b) use interlocking interference, by grasping a teammate or by using his hands or arms to encircle the body of a teammate in an effort to block an opponent;

In the end, the NFL will probably ban the play because Kansas City can’t run any kind of sneak play, for fear it will break Mahomes, the QB the League has decided to groom to be the GOAT.

They didn't ban it in '23. To my knowledge, very few injuries have happened on the play, other than the Giants (lulz) getting one of their guys hurt.

I could see them changing the "push" element if they wanted, but it would probably just reduce the Eagles' efficiency a bit. Other teams could do it if they committed the time to get better at it, and teams could also defend it better if they actually understood why it works. Washington actually had a pretty good approach, at least from a formation standpoint,to stopping it, the Eagles were just able to keep them off-balance enough to get them to jump offsides 3 times in a row to foil their tactical approach (plus they probably weren't counting on the refs to basically say, "Fuck it, it's a touchdown").

Except Mahomes, who managed to get horribly injured on the play.

Bottom line, it’s the NFL. Of course, they will add a new rule.
