Bucs only have 2 mil in cap space. Think Gilmore would sign a deal for 2 mil to play with Brady when he could make at least 10 mil on another contender?Bucs had to go dumpster diving for Sherman. Brady's got Gilmore on Line 1 I bet.
When he's got like 3-4 healthy weeks in him this season? Why not?Bucs only have 2 mil in cap space. Think Gilmore would sign a deal for 2 mil to play with Brady when he could make at least 10 mil on another contender?
I'd call it "unlikely, but plausible". He wants to be paid like a top-10 CB. He could possibly get that in Tampa by agreeing to a new contract that pays him $2M now then $20M/y over the next few years. When he's got like 3-4 healthy weeks in him this season? Why not?
Or just finish the season out, get the ring and then get the bag somewhere else.I'd call it "unlikely, but plausible". He wants to be paid like a top-10 CB. He could possibly get that in Tampa by agreeing to a new contract that pays him $2M now then $20M/y over the next few years.
That's the most likely IMO. Finish this year on a 1 year deal, show he is back healthy, and get paid in the offseason. Unless he thinks he has lost a step or isn't going to ball out this year. Then chase a big money deal now. Not sure who in the middle of the season has that room or knowledge of their next year cap based on 4 games this year.Or just finish the season out, get the ring and then get the bag somewhere else.

The Pats aren't a contender right now though. He wanted to get paid if he was gonna stink. That's what many would do if they were in his shoes. Given that he was sitting out of mandatory camps & such because he wanted his money, I don't quite see that as the most likely scenario for him this time. I'm thinking teams are going to offer him much more money and he'll go where the money is.
He tweeted a list of the top 10 highest paid CBs in the league and his name wasn't on the list. He's got his mind on the money. The Pats aren't a contender right now though. He wanted to get paid if he was gonna stink.

Now could he sign for $2M 1y in Tampa for a good shot at a ring? Sure. But if a team like the Titans, Seahawks, Ravens, Bengals or Browns comes calling with a check for $5-10M, I'm thinking he'll tell Tom "thanks for the invite, but I'm gonna make a run at a ring elsewhere AND get paid doing it".
I know, right! But each of those teams have some cap room and are 2-2 or 3-1.
He's healthy so it could be just a few weeks before he's in game shape.....Sherman started week 1 with his new team and Gilmore is younger.Dallas could use him in the secondary, but not at the price he will command and knowing he won't be helpful back there until at least week 10 to 12.
He's not taking the minimum.Bucs had to go dumpster diving for Sherman. Brady's got Gilmore on Line 1 I bet.
He allegedly wants a Ramsey type deal, 21 million per.I'd call it "unlikely, but plausible". He wants to be paid like a top-10 CB. He could possibly get that in Tampa by agreeing to a new contract that pays him $2M now then $20M/y over the next few years.
