GAME PEACH BOWL (CFP Qu): #5 Texas vs #4 ASU • 12c • ESPN

Additionally the ball was tipped at the LOS.

As was also pointed out the pick could have just as easily been called targeting.

ASU made a hell of a comeback, they should be mad at themselves for 4th and 13 though.

A 4th and 13 and targeting call away from losing to the team picked last in the Big 12.
and you couldn't even muster a TD vs Texas.. or even beat Navy.. in Ft Worth where all sooners migrate to for the hope of the American Dream..

Maybe, maybe not, but you got have some cringy feelings as an Ohio State fans seeing that call considering it was much worse than some of the targeting calls they have gotten in important games over the years.

Actually, so was the one earlier on Arizona State. Question on that one. Had they called targeting, does the int still count? Hit looked to be after the pick and it wasn't the hit that jarred the ball loose but I've seen college refs do wacky shit before
these were BiG refs too right?

There were missed calls on both sides of the game.. I've been done with blaming refs for awhile now..it's part of the game and being part of the Big12 with their shit show of refs over the years, made me realized you gotta overcome that.

but to be CLEAR..those BiG refs weren't ready for those Dasani bottles to come down like arrows on that final scene of 300!!!!!

Nah, that was a load of shit. ASU kicker sucks worse than Bertie-boy but they should have correctly called targeting and see if he could make that kick.

Makes me sick to say, but hoping tOSU hangs a hundred on y'alls pretender asses.

Who I pull depends on the results of today’s game. If UGA wins, I want to beat Texas three times this year, if ND loses, I want OSU to run up the score on em

Some of these fuckers actually want targeting called. Even had a couple begging for it when the GT QB fumbled after taking a shoulder pad to the chest on a run up the middle. Pathetic

I'm fine with eliminating it altogether. But with it in place, you gotta call it somewhere.

@stakesarehigh you are insistent it wasn’t targeting and I am curious why?

Targeting is defined as either a forcible hit with the crown of the defender’s helmet, or a forcible hit (with any part of the body) in the head or neck area of a defenseless player.

It’s like those obscure laws from the 1800’s that are still on the books, but not enforced. It’s a stupid rule, don’t enforce it

Considering the call that went against ASU in the Big12 championship was pretty much the same play, I'd be pissed if I were Dillingham too.

to have such a massive penalty tied to such a subjective call is fucking stupid. But it's the NCAA so what do you expect.

Or stop enforcing it after the season. But to take ASU's best secondary defensemen off the field for a rule that the refs refused to correctly call in that game pants on head retarded.

NFL players and most NCAA players have learned how to go for the ribs. This guy didn't, and still won't because of favoritism for Jexas.
Texas does get the benefit a lot. I’ve noticed that this year. UGA had two players ejected in the second half on pretty weak hits during the first matchup, and then a Texas player decapitates Gunner Stockton and no targeting

Yup. They don't get targetting called on them, they don't get PI called on them, they don't get delay of game called on them, and the fans that created the delay of game get no punishment.

Jexas can literally do no wrong, the NCAA is pushing hard for them to win it all. So it will be funny when the deck is stacked in their favor and they still can't win it all. Maybe then the rigging will finally stop, but we all know it won't.

At least one game in the playoffs was a close one.
