Book: Phil bet over $1B, tried Ryder Cup wager

Phil Mickelson bet more than $1 billion on football, basketball and baseball over the past three decades and even allegedly attempted to place a $400,000 wager on Team USA in the 2012 Ryder Cup in which he participated, according to an upcoming book.

Has he even made that much money? I know he's had lots of endorsement deals, but that seems like a lot of diaper and formula money to be pissing away

He's apparently made about $100M from golf, and a good deal more on endorsements. Probably a fair amount of his bets are money he won from other bets that he put back in.
 
Probably the least surprising news out there, tbh.
