Philly is fucking this Wentz thing up

I can’t see it at this point. You have to move on from him now. And they need to take whatever offer they can before that league year date passes.

I’m getting concerned he is on roster and they try to roll it all back and fix him. He doesn’t want to be there, they need to move on.

Meh, I'd have to guess much of this is the Philly sports media being the pieces of shit they are.

Every player needs to treat them like Jake Voracek does.

His arm motion is low on the list of problems with his play the last 2 years.

I'd LOVE it if his arm motion was the thing to worry about.

Failing to read defenses, staring at the rush, relationship with team are all WAY ahead of arm motion.
yeah, his form wasn't the problem as much as the decision making. look at the down and distances on these throws as well as the score.

Yeah, he does come across as a guy who thinks he's above the rest of the locker room. But I think his huge, sweeping arm motion has a lot to do with the other issues.

biggest problem with many of those throws is that Wentz knew where he was going to throw the ball before it was even snapped. Sometimes into double and triple coverage.

His arm motion didn't slow him down to the point of looking like he was running in mud every time he scrambled this year taking away the escapability that made him great in the superbowl season.

his WR's didn't help him out on a few of those. Looks like some quit routes. A change of scenery would probably do him well.

yeah he has been a step slower since all the injuries, for sure. But he isn't a QB who can look off a defender and with his windup he telegraphs his throws.

He needs to go somewhere he can sit on a the bench and get coached.

He can sit on the bench in Philly where the fans will love him again. The favorite player of every (shitty) Eagles fan is the backup QB.

See how hard it is to say he can’t do better than last year? It’s easy to see how off he was, but also how off everything else was.

Now we just need to see the Eagles get off the anchoring demands and unload him for what we can get. He’s not going to want to come back to Philly and try anything.

Didn't help that he would call an audible at the line for no reason other than he didn't like the play.

Philly doesn't have the luxury of keeping him on the roster due to his cap hit. Keeping him would cost you an impact player elsewhere that you would have to ditch to get under the cap. restructuring can make room, but not as much as you need.

Philly has to ship him to the Colts, and their most face saving bet would be to do pick swaps with them. Colts have the room for him, the need for a QB, and the coach to do it.

If Philly wants to get rid of him, they are going to pay someone to take him. I'm not sure anyone has the cap room to take him on as a backup either. Now there is chatter that Russell Wilson is on the trade block, making it a harder sell for SEA.
Indy is the best spot but they don't want to give up a ton for him apparently.

Or the Bears but it seems like Philly is trying to pit Indy vs Chi in a bidding war.

Stupid move.

I don’t by that it’s that serious of a cap issue as it pertains to trade/don’t trade. Trading soon only saves less than $1M.

Whether Wentz is here or we are carrying a shit load of dead cap is only that <$1M. It’s going to be a blood bath to get under the cap no matter what. And, it’s time. It’s time to clear out older players, some beloved.

And that’s an example of how some form of compensation for him is realistic. Teams can look at such nonsense the coaches and org allowed to happen and believe they can hem him in some and get the most out of him.

Trading saves little, but not trading costs a lot and keeps costing for next year. That is a lot of money to sit on the bench and be a cancer for the team. He already had locker room issues, now that everyone knows he wanted out they can't keep him in there.

Exactly why I want him out at this point for whatever we can get. There is no gain in having Wentz’s time in Philly continue. You can’t make someone stay (and stay engaged) when they don’t want to be there.

And they can blame themselves on that. They “gave the kid the keys to the Corvette” far too soon and were part of creating this entitlement that leads to cancer in a locker room.

The difference in trading him or keeping him 2021 is $800,000. It’s basically meaningless.
