Philly is fucking this Wentz thing up

The eagles “holding out for a first” is all ego. They know they made a mistake with Wentz and are trying to save SOME face by trading him. Getting a lot less than the Stafford deal just magnifies how much they fucked up.

And why shouldn’t they?
They fired the damn head coach who didn’t want to work with him anymore. They go out and hire a guy willing to give him a clear shot.
If the guy really does want out then he should get on board and play his ass off and the front office should be stingy about the want back via a trade this guy is signed and getting paid so if anything it’s on Wentz to fix his game

i don’t think they are gonna get it. Just my opinion.

Of course they aren't going to get it!
Personally if the two first rounders were true from Indy I would've jumped all over that.
I want the draft capital this whole roster needs to be re done.

I think you’re confused. The offer from Indy, much reported, was two second rounders. If it were two 1st rounders Wentz would be a Colt for two weeks now.

Not confused just missed typed and yes I would take the two 2nd rounders for Wentz

I personally don’t have an issue with waiting it out a little bit. Yes, there is a risk that teams will go another direction, and the waiting likely doesn’t up the ante this time of year and with a buyers QB market possibly setting up.

The wait likely gets no sweeter offers, but surely could backfire. But, he wants to play this card. I guess it wouldn’t be the worse thing if we take a bath on any trade and that’s the impetus for the boss to finally get him out of personnel.

Perfect situation. I think Wentz will make it all the way back to being a near MVP. Don't underestimate getting out of that shithole

Seems kind of a desperate move by Indy.

How is it desperate? They don't have a QB and they aren't in position draft wise to take a QB. They are built to win now so you really don't want a young QB. Wentz has $0 dead cap after the 2021 season. He will have a MUCH better support system in Indy AND they only gave up a 3rd and a future 2nd (possibly future late 1st) for him. Nothing about that screams desperate especially since there weren't any other better options at QB in FA other than giving up the farm for Watson and they won't be trading Watson to a team in their division.

They tried getting Stafford. Settled for Wentz. Last year they leaned on Rivers. Just seems like they want any QB not a specific one.

Well Stafford went to LA for 2 1st's...so they paid a lot more than Indy did. If he doesn't workout, it won't hurt them long-term. Like I said, not too many viable options out there who have even proven they can play at a high level.

That seems like a really good deal for Indy. I didn't see the full details but if Wentz stinks they don't give up a first?

Personally, if Jalen Hurts beat Wentz out psychologically he is probably done. I would take my chances in the draft or find a backup you think can come in and play.

Chris Carter liked this.

Apples and oranges situation as to what things messed each up in Philly. ....but I like what you’re saying.

Carter I always regretted. If we would have just had people that embraced Carter like the folks in Minny did it could have been great.

Wentzs case they just gave the kid the keys to the Corvette far too soon, and he crashed it.

Luckily Foles took it for a test drive when it purred like a kitten......

Ha ha. Yep. At least he got to take it for a spin before the kid who shouldn’t have been given the keys yet had a chance to wreck it.
