GAME Playoff Selection Show thread (11 am cst ESPN)

Oregon is clearly the best team but as we all know things don’t always go to plan in a tournament format. What a weird season it’s been. There’s a lot of mediocrity behind them and teams 2 through 12 all have their own set of issues. If Oregon doesn’t win it, it’s anyone else’s for the taking.
Nothing clear about it, their defense is suspect at best

Other than simply disliking Bama -- how can anyone justify SMU over Bama in the CFP? What is the strength of schedule for the 2 teams? What is their record against top 25 teams?

CFB is going to be chock full of a top teams playing the School for the Blind State 3 -4 times in OOC games every year. Just get them wins, don't matter who you play.

Alabama gonna be playin on Tuesday nights:

I see 3 losses, 2 losses to 6-6 teams one by 3 TDs. You completely ignore the losses. Funny how “body of work” only applies to the wins for SEC schools.

This is hilarious considering their OOC had NOTHING to do with them missing the playoff. It was losing to mediocre AT BEST conference teams. One of those being a 3 TD blowout

Time for them to go to 9 sec games

Bwaaaaahahahahahaha!!!

Hey Bammy, have fun at the ReliaQuest bowl!!
This will be the Tide's 3rd time in the Hall of Fame-Outback-Reliaquest Bowl in Tampa with all three matches against Michigan:

1988 (Jan.), Michigan won 28-24
1997 (Jan.), Alabama won 17-14

The series is tied 3-3 all-time

Michigan also won the 2000 (Jan.) Orange Bowl and the 2024 (Jan.) Rose Bowl

Alabama also won the 2012 (Sept.) Cowboys Classic and the 2019 (Jan.) Citrus Bowl

I think both teams and fans will care.

This is so overblown. Anyone that rolled into Norman was getting smoked that night. It happens, just not enough this season.

Didnt happen to SMU.

If bama wants an easier road, change conferences

amen.

this wouldn't be a conversation in any other sport. Bubbles burst every March because of bad losses.

When you only have a 12 game sample size, then you probably shouldn't lose to 6-6 Vandy and 6-6 Oklahoma.

It’s not overblown. Nobody gave the “nobody was beating them that night” excuse to Ohio State when we got rocked by Iowa and Purdue playing with cancer kid juju. Oklahoma is still a very meh 6-6 team. It’s a bad loss.

Show me SMU's body of work? Show me their record against ranked teams? Show me their quality wins?

I know why you don't want Bama there, as it'd be another team Ohio would struggle with. Remove that from the equation and show me what SMU has done to be more deserving.

I see only 2 losses. Both to top 20 teams and both by 3 points. Bamas 2 losses to 6-6 teams cancel out any good wins.
Show me the wins they have. Show me their strength of schedule compared to Bama.
