GAME Playoff Selection Show thread (11 am cst ESPN)

I know why you don't want Bama there, as it'd be another team Ohio would struggle with. Remove that from the equation and show me what SMU has done to be more deserving.

We probably wouldn’t beat SMU at this point I don’t care. Bama does not deserve it, maybe SMU doesn’t either but Bama definitely does it. Lol @ you jumping on the SEC SEC SEC! Bukkake train hood grief man

Oh no he was consistent until we got rid of divisions and he found out his 3 permanent teams would be Tenn, LSU and Auburn then he did 180 and cried like a bitch. Auburn is the only team that has perfect voting record for 9 conference games.
It’s sad today is the biggest day Auburn football has had since 2010

I'm not jumping on any train. It is laughable though to suggest SMU has a better resume than Bama. If SMU and Bama were to play on a neutral field -- Bama would probably be a 10 point favorite, if not more.

It isn't as if it is remotely close this year -- SEC is far and away the best conference. The Big 12 is a train wreck, so much so that the team picked to finish dead last, ASU, won the conference. The ACC is a train wreck this year. Clemson is their champ?!? They played 2 SEC teams, they were 0-2. They lost to South Carolina and they were absolutely boat raced by Georgia by 31. You know who beat South Carolina and Georgia? Bama did. Yet SMU is more deserving.

I don't know how anyone could say that with a straight face.

It woulda if Bama didn’t lose by 3 TD to a 6-6 team 2 weeks ago
It would have if the committee had them in the right spot of needing to play their way in in the first place.

If Bama didn’t get blown out by a 6-6 team 2 weeks ago they’d be in. Nobody to blame but themselves for not being in.

LOL you gave up 24 points to Vanderbilt and 30 points to Georgia
Georgia had 1 scoring drive over 40 yards. Georgia had ~275 yards of offense. LOL, if you think that is a bad defensive outing

LOL at using point spreads to pick the invitational. LMAO even. Possibly even haha.
Come on now -- you cannot possibly think the ACC is even remotely close to the level of the SEC. The ACC is an absolute train wreck this year. You guys won the ACC without having to play a ranked team in conference play until your conference championship game.

You played two teams in the SEC and you were 0-2. The fact the ACC has two teams in the CFP is laughable. I'm not even a SEC fan -- I'm a B1G fan. The fact Bama has beaten both teams Clemson lost to (Georgia and South Carolina) should have eliminated SMU immediately, when they have zero top 25 wins.

This will be the Tide's 3rd time in the Hall of Fame-Outback-Reliaquest Bowl in Tampa with all three matches against Michigan
Oh, South Carolina has great memories of the old Outback bowl, it's more "haha you're not in the playoffs, Bama"

You keep repeating yourself, but what you haven't done is explain how SMU is more deserving.

I said neither are deserving but at this point you take the 2 losses over the 3. If Bama had 2 losses they’d obviously be in. It’s hard to understand you with all that elephant jizz you got in your mouth

They have a great reason to be upset. SMU's best win is against who? 7-5 Pittsburgh? Zero chance SMU should be in. Even less reason that the ACC should have 2 teams. They don't even deserve one.
Dude, seriously? SMU has several good wins. TCU (8-4), Duke (9-3), Louisville (8-4), etc. Made the CCG in their 1st season in the conf, their two losses are by a combined six points, much more consistent team than Alabama.

Other than simply disliking Bama -- how can anyone justify SMU over Bama in the CFP? What is the strength of schedule for the 2 teams? What is their record against top 25 teams?

CFB is going to be chock full of a top teams playing the School for the Blind State 3 -4 times in OOC games every year. Just get them wins, don't matter who you play.

SMU earned their place, Alabama didn't earn anything. See above. SMU made it to their CCG, Alabama didn't. SMU lost two games, by a combined six points, to teams w/ a combined W-L record of 20-5. Alabama lost three games, by a combined 33 points, to teams w/ a combined W-L record of 22-14.

Just like my Cyclones (10-3) but with a worse record! :)

I wasn't sure who to pull for in that XII CG, would have been a great story either way
