I think the rural lifestyle lends itself to closer family and community ties. Closer to your roots and sech.I've spent more time with my family lately than I used to. Think since SA can't be around hers she likes to try to do stuff with mine.

All of the kids I grew up with/went to high school with all moved pretty far away from home, minus maybe one or two exceptions.
It seems to be a very midwest thing to not leave home.
