Post Your Big 10 Retard Thoughts Here

Made me go look things up. You are correct...depending on where one would place Nebraska"s 2001. But, in the current conference configuration, the SEC is the only conference that has had more than two (see Nebraska item) different teams play in a title game druing the BCS/CFP era since 1998. They've had six! (Va Tech, Miami and Nebraska were not in the ACC when they participated in the title games. )

ACC - (2) FSU, Clemson
B1G - (1) Ohio State
Big 12 - (2) Oklahoma, Texas (Three if you include Nebraska)
PAC 12 - (2) USC, Oregon
SEC - (6) Tennessee, Florida, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia

Sans the SEC, so much for parity.

I knew what I was talking about :). Also that 2001 Nebraska team had no business playing in the title after Colorado trashed them and they didn't even make the Big12 title game.

Texas played for 2, 2005, 2009... wish the CFP was around in 2008 because that team would have beaten FL..who beat ou instead (just like TX did that season)

**Thinking back..if the CFP was around in 2004..think UT would have gotten a shot at #4..only loss it had was a 12-0 loss to and undefeated ou in dallas that season**
Yeah and FSU played in four, LSU three etc. Still just the same school.

The year I wish they'd have had a 4-team playoff was 2010. TCU was much better built to defend more of an Oregon or Auburn type team than they were to defend Wisconson. The MWC was pretty good that year with Boise, Utah and even SDSU.

They did beat Wisconsin in the Rose but it wasn't a good match up for them on the defensive side.

Bro they didn't even win the North Division LOL..

which also brings me to Miami..yes that team was probably the most talented but they beat a team that had just given up over 60 points in Colorado, who really wasn't that good. I know they upset Texas in CCG game (Thanks to Mack and his love fest with Chris Simms), but that wasn't a special team at all.

Wish Texas decided not to take off 3 quarters, keep int machine Simms in the game which his last int knocked out Ced Benson for the remainder of the game.. But Texas had a good defense, really good RB, outstanding WR, and a solid O line. Granted Simms would have imploded but the way Major brought the team back..he would have gotten the start... ahhhh memories of blue balls in the Mack Brown 2000-2004 era.

Texas wasn't beating Florida in 2008, get real.

Tennessee choked that year in Atlanta against LSU or we would have gone. The Big12 had 3 contenders if i remember right and it was controversial that Nebraska was the one that went.

I also remember FSU being in the picture.

Yes they would.. they were athletic up front and had Earl Thomas in the back end. Colts OL was much better that season that what was left for the 2009 championship appearing team. They ran the Spread much better than FL and Colt was a legit threat running the ball that season.

LOL FL lost to a houston nutt ole miss team that season.. Texas lost in the final seconds on the road in Lubbock to a then undefeated Tech team. Texas that season beat #1 ou #11 Mizzu #8 okie light before losing at #5 Tech..and those games were in that order.

Texas had a really really good defense that season (Orakpo, Earl Thomas, Keenan Robinson, Curtis Brown, Aaron WIlliams, Sergio Kindle, Both Acho Bros, Lamarr Houston, Henry Melton, etc

You forgot the fact that the only team from the B1G to play for a title in the last 20 years is Ohio State. No other team has competing in the title game. Only one other team has made the playoffs, Michigan State, and they got dubbed hard Oklahoma style.

You are over the right ear if you are facing the elephant.

yeah the BCS then changed the rules that you had to win your conference to make the championship game after that.

blah blah blah fuckin' blah.

After that Ole Miss game, Florida was on a mission that season, no one was beating them again. Accept it and move on.

That same Houston Nutt Ole Miss team boat raced Texas Tech in the bowl game that season.

Oh nevermind they were on a mission, yeah nobody was going to beat them.... yeah right lol.. They didn't face a QB better than Colt that season, especially one who could run and not just be a statue in the backfield.

There is literally no evidence to suggest Texas was better than UF that season.

UF was ranked higher in:
Sagarin
Colley Matrix
Anderson and Hester
Massey
Billingsley
AP poll
Coaches Poll
Efficiency
